Good afternoon, ladies! Another rainy day and it's only 56 degrees so no walk today.

Nothing happening today...went to work, came home. I am happy to report the cherry and pear trees are in full bloom and the other trees are starting to leaf out. Grass needs cut soon. My breathing is still tight. I have my breathing tests tomorrow so we'll see what they say. I just hope I don't have to go on Prednisone again.

Maggie, I'm having spaghetti for dinner, too. We have a great Italian grocery store where the cheese (and most of their other products) is from Italia. You'd love it. Arizona is no longer the mecca for allergy suffers according to my allergist. The people that moved there planted the same trees, grass, and flowers they left behind and ruined that.

Jean, I hope Bob has a speedy recovery and can do his chores opening the cabin without pain. I didn't go to bible study. Instead I went to bed at 8.

Faye, I think T is turning into Beau Brummel. He's going to be a real heart breaker before you know it. I don't know of another boy his age who would want even 1 pair of cufflinks let alone 5. My husband always wanted shirts with french cuffs for dress.

Good afternoon all! I just now realized I never posted this morning. Old age forgetfulness I guess.

I talked with an old friend from high school online today. She lives close to Daytona Beach with her husband and seems to love it there. It is one of the few places I have never been. We were never stationed in Florida. I would love to go to Miami one time. I am addicted to "Burn Notice" and like "CSI Miami" so almost know what it would look like if I visited there.

Susan: You are right about Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Paradise Valley area. A lot of the homes out there have a lot of flowering folliage, grass, etc, which can wreak havoc with allergy sufferers. When we lived in Las Cruces there was hardly any green, but I imagine they have done the same thing there now with their upscale homes. I have seen pictures of some gorgeous homes in the Phoenix area with no grass whatsoever, but stones with plants in them and they are really quite lovely without grass.

Jean: Oh my, I hope Bob is better. What a scary thing to have happen. We have a little girl at the school who gets nose bleeds all the time and they are hard to stop. If they are colored sheets I would just suggest some good ole colored safe type bleach, some detergent and a washer full of cold water and agitate then let them sit and agitate over and over every couple hours, then drain and do it over a couple times and see how much you can get out. I doubt it will all come out, it rarely does unless it is a small spot.

Maggie: I would love to make a good homemade sauce, but I have never found one to my liking. As cheap as it is, I really like the ragu sauce. No so much of it's tendency to be thin, but I like the taste. Jack loves Prego, but I don't like the sweetness of prego sauce. My dad used to make the best spaghetti sauce, but alas he did not pass it down to any of us before he passed away.

Yes, Thomas is turning out to be quit the dandy. He takes to dress clothing like a duck to water I guess. Maybe it is the male side of dress up for him, who knows? Boys don't really do that kind of thing like they used to, ie dress up like policemen, cowboys etc to play so maybe getting all dressed up in a suit or tux is fun for him I imagine. I have been looking for some boys self tie bow ties but can't find any. I guess I should find out from Kelly how big his neck is as he may be able to wear a man's self tie if they adjust like a lot of them do I guess.

Jack has an ortho appt on Friday and I hope they allow him more therapy sessions. His rehab therapist thinks he needs more than just the three he was given because the knee is still causing him problems, but we shall see I guess. I didn't go with him because I had some work I wanted to get done while he was gone, but he came home limping quite abit.

Good afternoon, ladies! A beautiful day in the high 60s with 70s predicted for tomorrow then down into the 50s again.

My doctor appointment lasted 5 hours, but they had told me that before hand. I got my first dose of the trial medication (or placebo) today. On the 3 Spirometry tests before the medication, I was at an FEV1 of 41%. After the medication 5 minutes it went up to 57% on the next 3. An hour later it was 51% and 2 hours after that it was still 51%. That's a huge improvement for me. They gave me menus for surrounding restaurats and said I could have anything I wanted (tuna sandwich on dark rye and diet coke) and went and got it for me. Since I was out of there at 1:15 they really didn't need to feed me, but it was nice of them. Any way, I feel like I'm breathing better. When I get done here I'm going for my walk.

Jean, you've probably already dealt with the bloody linens, but the nurse at the hospital told me to use hydrogen peroxide - 1 cup for a small washer load - to get blood out. Use cold water. I had this all the time with Stan's dialysis. It works well. I had a winter 2 years ago with terrible nosebleeds. The doctor said it was because the air is so dry and had me get saline nasal spray. An old nurse who lives in the neighborhood told me to stop it, blow gently until the clot comes out. As long as the clot is there, it continues to bleed.

Faye, it's going to be quit around Easter weekend with you in Atlanta and me off to my quilting retreat. I found that Hunt's pasta sauce (cheap and in cans, not jars) is great. Good flavor and nice and thick. Better than I can make for sure.
