I have found journalling to be enormously helpful so far, but I really struggle with eating out because I am so terrible at estimating portion sizes as well as ingredients. Does anyone have tips for how to accurately include restaurant meals in a food journal? Thanks so much!
Some restaurants have nutritional information online. If you can find enough comparables, you can probably make a good guess.
I just started using FitDay today. I love it! I was writing things down but I always got lazy. FitDay gives you a pie chart that shows how your day is broken up (protein, carbs, etc). I knew I liked carbs, but lo and behold my pie chart told me today I had 49% carbs! UGH.
Anyway, if I don't write down or input my foods, it gets ugly. I used to go through the day keeping mental notes of what I ate, but I always forgot stuff. I did find it helped alot to keep track by writing it down. It certainly made me more aware of what I ate and it is nice to be able to go back and see what I ate on the weeks when I lose a fair amount of weight.
