  • WTG on keeping up your motivation and not giving up!
  • Stuck between 219 and 223, depending on how much sodium i've had. Stuck for a month now. Frustrating.
  • Cfmama, I have recently incorporated High Intensity Interval Training to my workout regimen and that has helped push me from a very long plateau. Another thing that has recently helped me..just over the last few days....I started drinking some Dandelion Root tea. It has a weird flavor..kind of like coffee and tea mixed together....but it's supposed to cleans the liver and gall bladder. It's not something scientific, but I thought I'd mention it since that's what I noticed (could be a coincidence too, but I'm waiting for TOM and my weight usually stalls at this point and it has been going down a bit).

You have some SUCH a long way and that is so inspiring!
  • Hang in there! You've done so phenomenally well, and knowing this is just a bump in the road is half the battle.

    And I agree...very inspiring!!
  • Yeah, plateaux. So what? They don't beat us, we outlast them. I'm on one right now, I was rushing down to 199 by Christmas, got down to 209 then bounced right back up in the 2-teens. So what? I feel great, I look great, I stay on plan, I ain't stressing. It'll come off when it's good and ready.
  • Realistically I KNOW this but then hearing of people who've been apparently Perfectly on plan and stalled for a YEAR freaks me the heck out!

I mean I DON'T CHEAT. I don't JAB. I don't do ANY self sabotaging behaviors that I can pin this on... I guess it is just a freaking stupid plateau that I can't help.

    Grrrrr....
  • Yep, I'm stuck too. I've been bouncing around 190-192 since mid-October. I can't say that I've been perfectly on plan during all that time and the last month or so has been pretty bad on exercise, too, so in my case I should probably feel lucky that I'm not gaining! I'm basically in maintenance mode and, due to some stress at work and in my personal life, I think I'm just going to hang out and maintain till after the holidays.
  • Yep! I hear ya lady... It was like as SOON as I got into Onederland my body was like "Um, yeah, that weight loss thing? Noooot doin it anymore." It's taken me over a month to go from 198 to 194. And believe me, the majority of that month was between 198 and 196. Which is NOTHING like my weight loss up until now. I guess, realistically speaking, that's the rate I SHOULD be losing... but it's easy to get used to the big, fast, steady losses that we had when we were way up there!

Just gotta keep at it, and not give up!
  • My weight is going off at a turtles pace Here lately too...So Hang in there. As long as we stay on plan we will see those well deserved results soon. (It will be no time and I will be celebrating you reaching onederland !!!! ~Just wait & see.) HUGS!
  • My mantra for those times was, in the words of the Billy Ocean song, "when the going gets tough, the tough get going". I know you are one tough lady!

    Kitty
  • Hang in there! You have done great and I have no doubt that you will beat this plateau. You will go busting through that wall and onto Onederland!
  • Cfmama, I am sure you have tried everything under the sun.... and if you have then just hang out and wait..... like RomanceDiva said.... you are more stubborn than your body. And remember all of the awesome compliments you have gotten. I don't think I read this suggestion, but along with all the others, have your tried eating your heaviest meal in the AM or at noon..... just to switch it up a little? Maybe your body is expecting "XYZ", so you should surprise it with "ABC"..... just an idea. When I get stuck, I try to make supper as light as I can (sometimes even just 100 calorie popcorn). I do get the same amount of calories during the 24 hour period, just not when the ole' tummy thinks it is due.

Starfish, the 190s were brutal to me too! I stayed in them for almost 4 months..... but part of that was my fault.

    Tammy
  • You CAN do it!

I second the HIIT and tooooooooooons of fluids suggestion - it's worked wonders for me. An added benefit of combining the two? Sprinting for the bathroom after your 2nd pint of water counts as mini-HIIT.
