Congrats MSTeacher! You can do it, and when u put on that wedding dress all it will be so worth it! Also stress is not ur friend, I am a stress eatter, take it one day at a time. You can do this!

Take this one day at a time. If you do slip up don't beat yourself up over it, just get right back on the wagon. I made a little weight countdown from a small notebook and put it on the fridge. Each time a I lose weight I just tear off the amount of pounds I lost....it's a big motivator when you see the weight to go get smaller and smaller!

We've been busy, busy, busy meeting with florists, event lighting specialists, and musicians.

EVERYONE keeps asking me if I have my dress. I just smile and say "no, not yet but I'm looking." I am starting the search in May. I think I'll be either be at my goal or close to it. (my MRC goal is 100 lbs- my personal goal is 140).

Do you know how many pounds per dress size? I suppose each body is different.

MS Teacher don't be ashamed, disappointed or discouraged. I did the MRC program 2 years ago, lost 23 pounds at was at goal. I have gained it all back over that time PLUS another 19 pounds. It has taken me two years to go back because the program is so hard for me. It takes every bit of focus and courage I have to do it because I love to eat things that aren't good for me. If you remember after a few weeks the program is not that difficult to do bc you get used to it. If you don't stray from the program it is obviously even easier. What the best part is, is being able to put your skinny jeans on with ease and no muffin top! Being able to wear dresses in the summer without your thighs rubbing together and feeling comfortable in a bathing suit. All of those things feel better than eating ANY food. I know what you are feeling and where you are at. Time will go by regardless if you are on program. You will thank yourself on your wedding day for doing this program. That is the way I have to think about it. How good I will feel putting on a bathing suit this summer instead of dreading it. Good luck and I will be here with you!!

you can do it!! losing weight and feeling good on your big day is totally worth it!! i know it is hard....but if you can do it!! just keep thinking dress, dress, dress!!

i just saw this post and wanted to let you know that when i bought my wedding dress last year, it took a minimum of 6 months to get in. i know each designer is different, but 6 months seemed pretty standard around here unless you buy off the rack. just wanted to let you know if you haven't already looked into that.

skinnyby25 thanks for the heads up. I was thinking 6 months was about the right time to start shopping. I'm going to temp fate a little and start in May (gives me 5 months). I would rather pay for a rushed dress than massive alterations. Although I'm not sure how much difference a month will make.

Does anyone know how many dress sizes per pounds? If I lost an additional 40 lbs after my original 100- should I order a dress 2 sizes smaller? Should I just try to have the right size altered?

I believe the rule of thumb is 1 dress size for every 10 lbs....now I'm not sure if that applies also to wedding dresses? Tends to run true to my clothing (10 - 15 lbs) - I'm down to a 12 from 18/20 when I started.

Yay! This made me super excited.. I cant wait to start dropping clothes sizes!! Im still wearing the same size and I’m about 13lbs down BUT I was barely fitting into my size. I really needed to wear a 26 but was wearing 24’s. So hopefully soon I will be able to give up the 24’s! It’s scary getting up that high b/c a lot of stores don’t go over size 24 I’m still dreaming of shopping in any store I want. Hopefully I can get there before my own wedding! Ekk.

I think the first week is the hardest - focus on getting through that first - the rest will come back to you. Good luck!

I had no problem getting my dress in in under 5 months...in fact I think we only took 4 months once I shopped. I got engaged in May and married in October (10/2/2004).

As far as sizing...I'd go to a really good bridal shop and tell them what you're planning. Ask MRC for a copy of your inches lost so you know your general trend (losing from hips, bust, waist, etc) and how much per month and then make an educated guess. I'd say its not the weight loss that'll effect the dress fitting, it's the inches. If you're not losing in your bust and you're pretty big there, you might need a larger size altered down to hit your hips and waist...my sister ran into that. Even if you don't buy the dress from the really good shop, get a guess on size there (even though in my experience, the dresses run about the same prices everywhere if you're getting the same dress).

FYI...I'm down 40lbs and am still wearing the same size as when i started...it's rediculously baggy on me, but i can't quite get down into the next size. Funny how its so different on different bodies. I need to try the smaller clothes again soon. I think I'm right on the edge of it.

I was wondering about your blood work.....I had blood work done and it came back saying my cholesterol and the bad DL was way too high (it never has before). I have been on this diet for 5 months and thought my cholesterol would be good.

Thanks for all of the input. My center has been lax about measurements. I should request one tomorrow. I definitely lose more in my upper body - face, neck, shoulders, waist. My stomach is the last to go. Boo! The style of dress I want can hide a belly although I want to be belly free by the wedding.

Weighing in tomorrow after 2 weeks of MIA. 30th bday partying and then sick as a dog for about a week and half. I think I lost all of my bday party pounds. I'm just trying to get back on track.

I started as size 26/28- now I think I'm an 18/20 in the shirt and a 24 in the pants (stupid belly) I refuse to shop until I'm at or around goal. I had to buy new jeans because I couldn't take the saggy booty anymore.
