Dinky,
So many things are going through my mind as I read your post - I wish I could be there with you, give you a hug and share my feelings on what you've expressed here today.
First of all, as so many have said, we all have failed at something whether it is weight loss or something else, often many times - it is what happened - it is not who or what we are. Also the past does not determine or predict our future - it's what we do now, today, that will determine tomorrow - will we make a change? - will we look forward or continue to look back? That's the only thing in our control - everything else is over and done.
I think you are probably a very lovely, caring person - I'm sure if any of us shared our stories, complete with the many times we have tried to lose weight or actually have, only to gain it all back (and more), you would never, never call us a failure or a disaster and would find us very deserving of a kind word or a shoulder to cry on along with a loving hug. If you would willingly offer this support to us, people you don't know yet, could you not give just a little of the same to yourself?- that's how we all feel about you!
Do I know how you feel? ABSOLUTELY! Have I felt the same way about myself, calling myself the same names, feeling unworthy of others' help and support, undeserving of good things to happen? ABSOLUTELY! But no more - I can't if I want to be healthy and be the person I need and want to be.
The fact is everyone has their own issues - some have more to lose. some less - some have health complications or situations that make everything that much more difficult, some don't - where ever we are in the pile, there's always someone better off or worse. But we are all in this together or can be - please be with us - let us be a part of your journey to cheer you on - you just need to do the same thing for us, and more importantly, for yourself - if we all deserve it, so do you - I promise!
Please read the stories here - you will see people of all different sizes, ages, situations - they have done it or are doing it - that's where I get my strength from, that's what keeps me going and coming back for more - I draw inspiration and hope that their success can be mine, with lots of work and determination over many months & months, but it can be mine.
It also can be yours - you've taken the right steps to get going and you've found the right place - YOU CAN DO THIS!

. I can't imagine how hard that must be. Your daughter sounds like a blessing & you seem like you must be a wonderful mom!
