I totally agree with Noahsmom about Tilapia. I honestly have never eaten fish my whole life, but everyone kept telling me to try tilapia because it does not have that fishy taste. I finally got sick of chicken and bought some tilapia and seasoned it with mrs Dash and ICBINB and it is delicious. Just try it, kindof tastes like chicken!

Tilapia is great fish!!! You can find it in the frozen food section or in the deli. This is a great source of protein if you are sick of the chicken!!

I am going to weigh in for the first time tonight. I am worried I will not hit ketosis because of the crackers I had yesterday. I am praying for some loss though!!

hmmm, maybe i'll look into the tilapia then. maybe i would feel differently if i lived on a coast and was able to eat fresh-caught fish, you know? but they say the longer fish is frozen (or the farther it has to be shipped), the more fishy it tastes.

completely random question: i don't have a food processor, but crushing melba toast by hand is giving me hand cramps!! will a plain ol' blender do the trick?

I don't have a food processor, soooooooooo, I just stick my melba toasts into a zip lock bag and then take a nice firm glass and roll it out or crush it. Heck, you could even put it on the floor and stomp on it! Good luck.

I live in Nebraska as you do (Papillion)....around here we have to die for steak and such but no fresh fish...unless you want to go catch your own. And those (catfish) are not on our list....so I guess us Cornhuskers have to by the frozen or pay to much for the fresh.

exactly, LaRee!! our steak is fantastic (and actually, so's the fresh chicken) but i've always been told the seafood leaves a little something to be desired.

as for the melba toast, i've been putting the crackers into ziploc baggies and crushing them with whatever i have lying around... at first i tried the heavy drinking glass method, but it didn't seem to break it up very well, so then i started using pliers! but that makes my hand hurt. maybe i'll just bite the bullet and try the blender. i lovvvvvvve using melba as a protein coating but it just takes so long by hand!

As far as breakfast, what about a 'grilled cheese'? I take a piece of bread, toast it, slice in half (they're really thin slices of course), spray the non-toasted side with ICBNB and use 2 slices of the yellow american cheese from the deli and yummy!

LaRee, do others in your family like broccali? You could cook the flower tops for them and for yourself . . . (drumroll, please) Broccali stalks! Peel the tough, more bitter outer skin off the stalk and eat the tender, sweeter center raw like celery. Was the only way I could get my older son to eat broccali. It's worth a try.

All I have is a magic bullet and is works perfect for crushing melba toast up to make coating for chicken, etc.
