For the last weeks, I've been abusing on the Red Bull... I need to stay awake and these pills don't help. At all.

benadryl is an antihistamine. Is there another antihistamine that you can take instead?

I know I can not take Benadryl unless absolutely necessary. It makes me groggy and drugged feeling for 3 whole days afterward. And that's just one pill. I am super sensitive to drugs.

how long had you been taking the benadryl? When did you take the PCN? It should have cleared up as soon as the PCN was out of your system. If you are still having red patches and breaking out then possibly you are allergic to something else.

My health is very problematic right now, but at least my cysts under my right arm are ''keeping it cool'' right now. (In the past 3 years I had 3 surgeries to remove cysts and a lipoma the size of my fist). It's not ''inflammed'', doesnt hurt too much, so at least on that side I'm feeling alright.

The lady at the clinic (allergies) told me I could take Reactine instead, but in the past it didnt work for me.

I'm still taking Benadryl but only one per day instead of one each 6h...
The same lady didnt know what to tell me about the patches coming back, she was clueless, never heard of a case like mine before. o_0

I guess I'll have to take a Benadryl a day until december 23rd...
I don't know what else I could be allergic too.. I havent change anything in my nutrition (no new food), no new body wash and stuff like that, and the only other medecine I take is Diane 35.

My MIL had to take 50mg of Benedryl a day because she was allergic to the only medication that worked for a serious problem. That and 3-4 pots of coffee. Seriously the woman was a zombie before the first pot. Her whole life operated in slo-mo. Eventually they found a different med, but not for about 20 years.

Just a few years ago, I started to develop allergies to perfumes. Had never had this in my life. This may be happening to you. I had to change my laundry detergent, fabric softner and body soap. Nothing with perfumes. I literally spend $35 a jar for a natural olive based body wash. It's the only thing that doesn't give me a rash.

I hope that isn't your issue, but it might be. We grow in and out of allergies all of our life. This one is truly a bummer.

willa, I know it sounds like some wacky, quick fix...but how is your eating? how many fruits and veggies are you getting? lean proteins?

About my allergies I will know about it in december, it's far farrrr yet
But I will make sure to be tested to common stuff too, not only penicillin, because in the past I reacted to Pepto Bismol and also I reacted twice to hair Perm stuff, you know when you get your hair colored and they use the perm stuff to remove the stains? It was a BAD reaction... I took pics, I look like an alien

I believe a good liver cleanse is in order. Yes I agree with the B vitamins, but if your metabolism is being sluggish because of your liver--the pills aren't going to be much help.

I take liquid B12 myself. Because I am in the nursing program and I personally HAVE TO GET A'S. Talk about stress. The Liquid B's keep me human. It is best to take liquid B's when You are very depleted--or even a B shot. But liquid B's should help immediately. You drop them under your tongue--hold for 30 seconds. Then, you swallow.

Our livers are amazing, but they need a work up--because frankly we abuse them. I love this product called Smart Cleanse. Most liver products are generally harmless to MOST people. The Smart Cleanse also has a very GENTLE colon cleanse system. My mom's side has lots of trouble with colon things...and I have tried ALOT of products--this really is gentle but effective.

An increase in allergies--is usually a sign your liver is having a hard time keeping up. If the liver can't process something, it stores it, then develops histamines to protect ITSELF from those allergens. You react to more and more histamines-therefore you need more and more antihistamines.

I think that is rather mixed up. Inability of the liver to process something does not make it an allergen. Allergens are those things that cause antibodies, which are produced by the immune system, not the liver. The liver doesn't store allergens. Histamine (singular) promotes inflammation in a fairly general way. There are not multiple histamines corresponding to different allergens. Nor are there different histamines corresponding to different antihistamines.

I am very aware of how the immune system functions. I never said there are specific antihistamines for the histamines your body produces (several forms in several pathways) I was stating the liver creates its own HISTAMINES to protect itself from damage by the toxins it cannot process. And yes these toxins can be allergens to the body. This agitates the immune system of the person even more. there is much study done about the liver creating anaphylactic shock in a few species. Also there are numerous reports of allergies being transferred to patients AFTER liver transplants from patients who had the specific allergy (how can this happen if the liver is not storing allergens????)A biochemist naturopath--started helping people with allergies based on the allergen-liver histamine premise I stated--and it has helped alot of people. The world of medicine is only now beginning to learn about the liver's use of histamines for regeneration. So I think the biochemist was onto something.

I'm celiac and hypothyroid. I "know" tired. Made sure they check you for celiac when you get to your long awaited appointment. (don't feel bad about the long wait- I live in the US, have "good" insurance, and was lucky to get into my endo on December 31st when I made an appointment yesterday.) Maybe cut back on the Benedryl or take more at night and less during the day?

I'm in a rush right now but I will take a look at what's been writen lately here, thank you, again, everyone for your answers.

But just thinking about it right now makes my itchy hahaha

Well well... since I last posted, I had news from doctors

They didnt find why I reacted so bad to Penicillin but they found that I am allergic to : cats, dogs, some trees and acarids

They made me pass tests to understand why I always catch bronchitis and colds : it seems I have asthma...

How come, in 29 years, I never knew I had this???
It explains a lot, that's a fact.

I am supposed to have news from my Dr about these tests in a couple of weeks.

Now, I have to get in shape...
