Why do I let the scale effect me so much still?

  • You look fantastic! Since you *know* you are so rigorous with your exercise and food tracking, why not stay off the scale for a while so it won't affect you emotionally?

If you *know* you're doing everything right, there's no need to let the totally normal fluctuations that show on the scale bring you down, right?! With your workout schedule, I think your body is just going to retain fluids unpredictably, but that's normal and not a reflection of the way you look, your size, etc.
  • My son bought the P90x plan and one of the first things it says is it isn't a WL plan.... it is for muscle growth. Maybe that can explain SOME of it.

As for letting the scales affect your mood..... I can't answer that. I do the same, even though I try hard not to.

You look good..... so do you really want to stress this hard over 2 pounds of fluctuation?

Thank you Tyler you seem to be the only one reading what I have been writing. It was just a bit disturbing to see a total of 6 lbs but for whatever it went off. I know I am somewhat addicted to weighing but I am so parionoid of overnight gaining it all back. I know when you gain muscle it does retain water some time during the process.

Julie it may be normal for you to fluctuate 6lbs daily but in the last 4 years mine has not been more than 1 to 2 lb and not 6 lbs over a few day THAT was what was alarming.
Ladyrider I lost 14 lbs while doing p90x and gained lots of muscleI did DOUBLES have you son read about it in his Book.
  • I don't think I can walk on your eggshells! But I'm glad it's all better
  • Devadiva, he is 19..... I am not sure if he read past the P90x on the outside..... I will mention it to him when he comes home..... he is in the military-- why he needed P90x is beyond me.

    You really do look great!
