I'm all for increasing healthy fat options. I do find that as long as I control carbohydrates, fats really help me stay on track because of hunger-control.
I've been struggling recently, especially since the bout of pneumonia I had in early spring. The cause isn't a mystery, reduced activity (my lung capacity is only now starting to return to pre-pneumonia state), and overindulging in the most lethal of combination for me carbohydrates with fats (I'd only eat a couple of plain triscuits, but top with bit of butter, avocado or cheese and I'll eat 'til I'm sick if I'm not careful). I've not allowed myself to regain, but I need to put more effort in, both in diet and exercise.
Well I am enjoying adding the coconut oil to my days, 5 days in now using about 1 Tablespoon a day, and I actually think this type of FAT is really keeping my cravings at bay, I haven't been hungry once in the 5 days, coincidence? hmmmmm still unsure to tell.....
I tried a stir fry like was recommended and it was delish, veggies & shrimp & chicken & it tastes so light & tropical! It's been fun experimenting, I also tried an apple cut up into a bowl & I shave some coconut oil onto that and that too was yummy and very filling. Then today I made a big arse bowl of air popped popcorn and I drizzled on a T of coconut oil, (for my todays fat) and OMG, pure heaven, this so tasted even better than movie theatre popcorn & way better for you!
I am so enjoying the coconut oil thus far, so I will continue with it, oh yeah try the coconut popcorn, it's amazingly good stuff Mennard!
