Cat, Genealogy is so interesting to me! There is a book on the Thibodeaux family. I've tried, unsuccessfully, to get my hands on it. John Folse has written a book called The Encyclopedia of Cajun and Creole Cuisine. It is the most wonderful book. Not only is it a cookbook, it's a history book. I love reading Cajun history, stories and folklore.
Hello everyone,
Sounds like everyone is having a good Friday...I am fighting off a headache right now wishing I was wfh today but alas no. The day is half over though so not much longer to go. DH and I are going to see Martha and the ? Somethings I can't remember tonight. Anyways enjoy your weekend everyone.
I had lunch with my supervisor. Ate my beautiful salad, and watched her eat fried fish, fried green tomatoes, creamed corn and peach cobbler. It was tough!
Chelby, I'm there with you. Had a lovely time out eating with my girlfriends. The ONLY thing on the menu for me was a grilled ceasar salad (limited lunch menu..they would not sub grilled shrimp for the chicken)..and this is a very "chi-chi" restaurant.
I watched them eat hot french bread with butter, crab cakes, beef tips etc. I also listened to them discuss high cholesteral (sic?), high blood pressure and diabetes and the meds they were taking. Made my salad taste like a million bucks. Nothing tastes as good as feeling great feels.

Kierie, I could have sworn I got that recipe from this forum, but I can't find it now. I'll look some more later and if I can't find it, I'll post it. It's one of my favorites.
