  • Ladies, when I was a teenager and young adult, my mother had it in her head that I was fat...because I was built differently than she was. She had a more athletic build, slim legs and small butt and boobs. I was and am a classic pear, and my mother felt that was "fat," even though at 5'4" I was under 120 lbs. From all her comments about my fat legs and butt, I got a fat self image which has never really left me. I think she meant well...as if she said enough, I'd somehow be able to change my body type or something. Sadly, she died when I was only 24, so I've never been able to resolve this issue with her...but I was very careful never to say a thing to my daughter about her body. I am happy to say that my daughter eats healthfully and is an athlete, and has no negative body issues that I am aware of.
  • Quote: Are you telling me , that you are 5' tall and that you weigh 117 ? No way in the world could that be considered obese . you are at a healthy weight for your height. I think your mother has unrealistic concerns for your weight.

This just made me so sad That families do this to their girls..I mean I shouldn't be surprised at all as a similar sickness in my family BUT Darn it Your not fat...
