  • I have another question for you lovely ladies

Can I use the Nike+ without my iPod? I do own an iPod Touch but if I just wanted to wear the nike+ on non-workout days for just tracking distance... will it still record the information?

I'm thinking of getting a pedometer for measuring distance and steps. But if Nike+ does that then I can just for with that instead as it's easier since I can just attach it to my shoe. Any thoughts?

    Thanks

You have to have your ipod with you and turned on for the Nike+ to work. You can get wrist bands though that can work in place of the iPod... more $$$$

Honestly, I just bought a Pedometer, cost me $30 and it supposed to be one of the best ones out there and I like it better then the Nike+. It counts EVERY single step I take it a day, assuming I have it on me. I feel like a dork with it clipped to my side, but it's pretty cool and motivating to see how many steps you take. I can clip it to my pants, put it in my pocket or my purse and it still counts. The downfall of the Nike+ is that you have to have your iPod with you, and your shoes on! I can use this one barefoot! And it works good for counting my steps even when doing a walking video, I don't think the Nike+ would work well for that.

I log on my steps in walkertracker.com I have a bit of info and stuff on my blog if your interested.

If I go on a longer walk, then I use my Nike+ too - might as well.
  • Thanks sotypical, for your response . Then I'll just invest in a pedometer. I think it would give me more info than the nike+. I like the idea of steps counted.

I'll definitely check out your blog.
  • Hey Pinto, I left you a comment back. Yes it does show distance

This pedometer might appeal more to you - you can plug it into your computer.

I have only ever used an Omron pedometer, but the huge plus is that they don't have to be clipped to you. You can put them in a pocket (not a tight one) or in your purse. And it doesn't make any nose at all, apparently some are very loud.
  • Thanks so much. You helped a lot. And, thank you for replying to my comment as well.
