  • Another one of those early mornings! From 9 on Fortune got off the bed three times, so I decided to bring him downstairs so Jack could sleep at least. I am having more gassiness since eating correctly so of course that can cause pain for me. I was a little uncomfortable so took some tylenol and some gassX while I am down here so I can go back to sleep when I am done.

I paid bills this morning so my checkbook looks puny again! Such is life these days I guess. You have to survive, pay a mortgage, eat, gas and have utilities and such. Just thankful Jack has a pretty solid job so we can live ok.

Susan: I am not a huge potato eater in fact if I do go somewhere and the sandwich includes fries I don't eat but a couple. I would prefer a baked potato when I eat potatoes. When Jack and I decided to get a sandwich out of bring it home, I go to the website and check out nutrition so I can do the pts. Jack wanted to know some info on a breakfast sandwich from Mcd's a week or so ago and I think it surprised him how many calories and how much fat is in just one sausage biscuit from there. I try and keep those two point biscuits made up and in the freezer and he can make himself a pattie of lowfat sausage and a biscuit for around 4 pts versus, something like 8 for one at mcd's. Of course, if you want to use your pts that way, you certainly can, but I can do a lot with the extra 4 pts, 4 pieces of fruit, a pudding cup and some fruit, pretzel sticks and ww cream cheese, even a pb sandwich and tbl of lowfat pb. I know you can understand this above all people because you have weighed what I do, but Jack and I seem to "get it" this time around. That doesn't mean all the other times I tried I didn't work at it, it just means I guess the time is right, we have something that we have to make goal to do, ie walking around on the cruise. I think that is what spurred me on past the first couple weeks when I would be hungry all the time. I knew that going down that road again would sit me back on being at goal or around goal for the trip and I have to be where I can easily walk and not get tired or hurt. I even just ordered my "little black dress" for the formal evenings on the ship. I cannot afford to have the skin removed so I will have to deal with the extra weight and the look of it, but who cares? You can hide a lot with those foundation type garments. The lady that cuts my hair swears by hers and she had gastric bypass surgery. They sure smooth everything out.

Jean: You have fun at all those retirement foofoos this weekend and such. You deserve it. I wasn't busy until near 11 yesterday then the flood came in, lots of bandaids, which we are in badly need of the regular size, a bee sting to the bottom of the foot, a sore throat, and a vomiter. They had no one for the afternoon but I didn't want to stay all day, for one thing I hadn't brought any lunch with me and I can have hypoglycemic problems if I don't eat. I noticed that no one had worked at all for the week between last week and this. No wonder they fall all over me when I work. There are a lot of grandparents that come and have lunch with their grandkids, wonder why they don't try and tap into that? Kelly was the one that told me about the clinic. She was on the PTA board so she knew they needed help.

Well, guess I should try and get some sleep. I need to finish cleaning upstairs today. I did the bathrooms last evening so it is just dust and vacuum today. I want to go and get my hair cut tomorrow and need to pick up some knitting stuff too. I think we will go out to dinner tomorrow night for our monthly night out.

    Have a good one! Faye

    GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

It is a lovely day here in the heartland. Just a breeze going and cool enough not to even have the over head fans going. It is a low point day for me and I am sticking to it. I am having a meal replacement smoothie for lunch, which I am sipping as I type. For dinner I will be fixing a baked chicken dish. Life is good. Will is at the cancer center this day doing his volunteer work so I didn't have to make his meals except for dinner which helps on these low point days. I have one house to finish up today which just needs washing, staining the solder back to copper color and waxing. This one is for our collection. Next one I make is a give-away.

JEAN Are there many cabins around that lake now? I remember there not too many when we were out your way but that was years ago. Is your hubby going to retire anytime soon? Thought maybe you would be doing some traveling. BTW, don't eat too much at all those parties.

SUSAN Thanks for the 411 on that book. Will looked it up on one of his favorite book sites (betterworldbooks.com) and found that that author has several diet type books, which I will be getting. A few of the titles he found are "The Automatic Diet","Lighten Up", "The Diet Detective's Contdown" (the one you spoke about) and "The Diet Detectives Calorie Bargain Bible". We will look locally for them first and if we can't find them then we can order on line. Some are used and in great shape or can buy all of them new on that site.

DONNA Are you eating more fiber now that you are back on program? I find that always affects me when I cranke up the fiber intake. Just takes a few days for the body to kick in and accept it. I am so jazzed about your weight loss. I expect lots of pictues of your exploits while on the cruise.

OK ~ gotta go. Ragg Mopp is knocking at the back door. Type at y'all later. Have a wonderful afternoon and evening.
  • Good evening, ladies! Raining again.

Finished the computer installation today so that it a load off my mind and a few extra prayers of thanks.

I have a chiroprator appointment tomorrow morning and then the dentist for those two crowns in the afternoon so that takes care of that day.

Maggie, thanks for that book website. I'm always looking for the best prices. You'll have to let us know about the books after you get them.

Ladies, have you ever thought about how much money you have spent for books about weight loss, meetings, and other weight loss items...and here we are still trying to lose weight. We could have all gone on a cruise together and had enough for a fabulous wardrobe and spending money.

Jean, you asked about the exercise bike I bought - it's just a simple one that was on sale and had good reviews. It's easier for me to find things like that on line so I can have them delivered and this bike had free shipping. Are you enjoying all your parties?

Faye, I'm sure Thomas' school realizes what an asset you are. I have excess skin on my upper arms and thighs but I couldn't afford plastic surgery and didn't think the scars were much more attractive. I got luck on my tummy. I had to have an intestinal blockage taken care of and the surgeon got rid of all the excess skin. I have a scar from hip to hip from that surgery, one that goes from my belly button to my mid back from kidney surgery and then one that goes vertically from another intestinal blockage so I have a big + in the front. Never could wear a bikani if I wanted to. Dressing nicely takes care of it although it had to find elbow length sleeves on summer appareal. I consider it the price I paid for letting myself get so fat to begin with.

Well, NCIS is on so I need to go watch. I'm a dieheard fan.
