Glory87, you crack me up! "Shameless bribes," indeed.
I bought myself a ceramic flattening iron for fixing my hair when I hit fifteen lbs, and a few lbs after that I bought a wide-barrel curling iron (I have wavy hair that'll go either way). This week, if I hit my weekly 1.3lbs-lost goal, I'm going to buy a couple good quality fine-tooth combs and a bottle of shine serum to amp up my look. If I hit my goal next week, I'm buying a new blush, cause I'm out. None of my goal rewards have been expensive, the first two were 15 - 25 dollars and the last two are less than five bucks each.
I think it's important to reward yourself with things that make the journey easier, too. When I get off another five pounds, I'm buying a pair of ankle weights to ramp up my calories burned on my daily walks, but ONLY if I've been diligently going on my walk every day to get that five pounds off. A few pounds ago, I bought a pair of five-lb dumbells to use when I do arm exercises. From what I hear, using added weights, even such small amounts of weight, can almost double your calories burned during certain exercises.
