  • yeah i don't think they're too good as a way of life, but i do keep them (or smart ones or amy's) around for those occasional nights when i need to eat NOW NOW NOW and don't have the patience or inclination to cook. unfortunately those nights are at least 1-2 times a week, but i figure it's better than me ordering takeout (which also tends to happen 1 time a week).
  • I think all frozen meals are generally low in fiber and high in sodium - even if the label says "healthy". I try to make my own prepared meals by cooking for 3 hours on Sunday and portion each meals in plastic containers before freezing. Cheaper, healthier, lower in calories and sodium.

It's a little tough preparing meals when I'm busy all the time. I work 9-7 and I was in the office again on Sunday. Thankfully I am taking a break from grad school this semester to save my sanity (and my health).

The house is a little messy right now and I haven't done laundry for the week yet. But I have to prioritize my diet if I want to meet my goal.
  • heather- i LOVE lean pockets! i have whole grain supreme pizza in the freezer right now

i don't eat lean pockets a lot because i only let myself eat one pocket at a time and they're not that big- plus i love the pizza ones and i have a better frozen pizza alternative
  • Frozen dinners can be very helpful. When they're on sale, I'll buy a few to keep in the freezer at work for those days when I walk out without my lunch. I also keep a bag of frozen veggies to supplement the frozen dinners since, as several of you noted, there's just not a lot of food there! THey are high in sodium, and certainly are processed. In my book however, they're better than going to a fast food place.
