Yea what she said, I had no idea actually all I knew was it was the day after Christmas. I'm glad to now the meaning behind it.
  • This year instead of gifts my boyfriend and I are planning dates. He'll plan Christmas and I'll plan New Year's. So far I know we'll go to a restaurant and see a movie on Christmas. I planned like 6 things to do between NYE and NY Day so he said he would think of more for Christmas.

This is my first Christmas away from my family. I'm not sad, but it does feel kind of weird. The last 3 Christmas have been weird, actually, I worked two in a row and the one before I was living on the East Coast and didn't get home until close to midnight on Christmas Day. But I always saw my whole family sometime during Christmas week and it's the first time that won't happen.

Also, being in a foreign country is weird. There's WAYYYY less consumerism here so it almost seems like they don't celebrate Christmas in Korea.. but they do, just not as dramatically. Also my first Christmas with no snow! I'd like it more if it wasn't so COLD. It wasn't the snow I hated, it was the COLD!
  • My family is having a hard time getting together. I visited my dads side of the family Sunday because my uncle was in town from Memphis. I was supposed to go get my bf so that he wouldn't have to spend Christmas alone, but the weather got bad. For his sake I hope I can make it up there to get him tomorrow. My mom has a new bf, one of his daughter's names is Kelly. I know its rude and selfish but it irritates me.. I just wanna be like "this is why you don't blend families!". Whenever we figure out when christmas is going to be for our group it'll be the first time my brother and I have spent time with the new guy's kids. It shall be interesting considering in HS his oldest daughter HATED me. I don't know why, gotta love them haters. To add to that her bf says the "n" world ALL THE TIME. I never say anything because honestly, to each his own, but if he says it around my bf there WILL be an issue. Stupid rednecks.
  • Just chillin' with the fam and eating some food. It is our first Christmas married so we are going to have to make the rounds to everyone's houses.

I have an 8 yr old brother so Christmas is still a really fun time in our family. Lots of other little ones are cousins so Santa Clause is still alive and well. Actually, he visits are home every Christmas Eve before leaving on the big trip for pictures and to say Hi! I wonder what list I'll be on this year?
  • joyra- that sounds really sweet to do dates instead of gifts. that's really cute. have fun for your first foreign christmas!!!

kelli32- ooh that n word bugs me SO much, i hope he doesn't say it around your BF!!! what a jerk. good luck, i totally understand why you'd be irritated with her name being kelly. that is just annoying. haha, sorry girl. hope you have a good christmas regardless!! so you and your bf are doing good?

    heather mcg-
our first married christmas was so hard, it was my first christmas away from my family, i cried the whole time, hahahahaha! this is now our 3rd christmas and we still have never gone home, now I can't imagine it any other way. but that first christmas was really special, i got to see what a good comforter my hubby is hahaha i don't think he'd ever seen me cry like that up until that time. it was pretty rough!
  • i came back home to the states for xmas. and it kinda sucks already. i'm excited to get back to montreal, just not for the snow.

  • This year was supposed to be our year in the USA with my family, but we couldn't afford the tickets or time off work.

We spent all of xmas day with my SO's parents and his nan, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, food was excellent.

I don't have any other plans except to sit inside until my infection clears up, so I can start regulating my blood sugar again!
