How do I get back on the wagon?

  • back, Lady Phoenix! Coming here and posting is a great first step! The chicks are right...do Phase 1, but only as long as it takes to get rid of cravings. Most people take from 3-5 days, but a week is more than long enough.

Even as essential, though, I think, is figuring out why you fell off the wagon. What happened to keep you from getting back on after "celebrating your birthday?" I think it's very hard to stick to a plan if you think you'll never be able to go off it, and you could easily fall into that trap if you have "all or nothing" thinking about your last fall off. How can you plan off-plan times and ensure that you'll get back on afterwards? I believe wholeheartedly that falling off is never a failure as long as you "pick something up while you're down." So make sure you pick something up from this last experience so you can set yourself up to never fall into that trap again (not that there won't be other ones, right? )

    Welcome back!
  • Beachgal, no one has ever made me think like that before. I usually fall off a diet and think that I don't have the "willpower" and give up. You have given me a lot to think about as I start again. I'm glad I don't have to do phase 1 for two whole weeks because those two weeks were really tough!!
  • I know how you feel. I am back as of yesterday after a BIG break. You can do this. Much love to you as you jump into P1
