Great pictures! And the dress will be gorgeous! Congrats on the goal!
Thank you! My friend high-fived me when I told her I'd finally made it into the dress. She was with me when I bought it... in January. lol.

Wow, you are gorgeous!! I'm sure the dress will look great on you
Thank you very much. I still can't really see myself. I think I'm still waiting for the 170s before I look like a "normal person".

YOu are beautiful. The dress will show that off
Thank you! It's especially the arms I've been working because of the one-shoulder thing. And I meant to ask -- does anyone know how to help those little red spots that people tend to get on their upper arms? I know it has a clinical term -- Keratosis Pelaris.

Mostly I just call them "annoying". lol.

Wow! Yes you do look GREAT! How long--was it just since June 2008 that you lost the 35 lbs? That is incredible!
Not since June, no. Since June 19th, I've lost 22 pounds. I lost the first 13 over a very long year and a half of trial and error, success and failure. It's only the last month and a half that I've really gotten serious. My peak was at January 2007 (220), but I returned there around December.
  • That's a lovely sounding dress, and I have to mention that you look AMAZING in your photos!

Also, I saw that you mentioned Keratosis Pilaris, and as someone who has it myself, I'm sad to report that there's no real cure for it, just a heap of different methods you can try to help make it look a bit better. Here's a link to a forum that I occasionally lurk around that's about it; there are many helpful people there who have posted many methods for treating it:

I wish you the best of luck.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this. Thank you so much. I find mine gets better and worse alternately, but never totally goes away. I was kind of hoping it might be part of my weight, like perhaps it's indicative of poor circulation. Oh well. Fingers crossed. I remember it really starting up when I was about 14/15, so it might have had to do with hormones.
  • WOW! What a feeling!!!
  • aww poop! I missed seeing the picture of you in the dress. I am sure you looked wonderful! The dress was pretty and way to go on the weight loss!
  • I took the picture down because there was recently a breech in my privacy here (which was mostly my fault, because I should have picked a different nickname), but for right now, I'm uncomfortable having photos of myself online.

Once I get to my goal, though, I probably just won't care. lol.

    Thank you both!
  • I know exactly how you are feeling! I went to try on a dress for my future sister in law's wedding and i fit in a size 12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its just the greatest
feeling that all of this hard work is finally paying off! Last year at this time
I was pushing close to a size 18!!
  • That's great! When I lose weight I have dresses in mind I would like to wear. *fingers crossed* =D
  • Well after all of that fuss, I didn't wind up wearing that dress. lol. It was a really sunny day and I decided something more fun/less formal would look better. BUT I cut my hair pretty short and dyed it and went in this fitted black cocktail dress and most of the people at the wedding hadn't seen me since I weighed 220.

The groom, bride, and two bridesmaids all told me I had lost a ton of weight, which felt fantastic.

And of course the bride was absolutely gorgeous herself.
  • How is it going? I'm sure you are doing well. Perhaps, I'll get a dress as an inspiration! Suzy
  • Congratulations! The dress looks really lovely
  • oooohhhhh that's exciting. I bet you look fabulous too. Congrats, and ENJOY.
  • Congratulations! It is always a wonderful feeling for me to try on something that DEFINITELY did not fit before.
  • Congrats! xoxo
