  • A couple of weeks ago, AMC was showing the Benny Goodman Story, Glen Miller, and oh can't remember who else. Than I went into Goodwill looking for furniture to refinish and found a whole set of "Big Band Memories". Had five records of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman and Helen O'Connell. It was only $1.99 and in excellent shape. I'm always singing "Mr. Sandman" and my 7 y/o GS loves it and I happen to find an eight piece record set of the 40s and 50s big hits and so we play that every morning before he gets on the school bus. I was born in the fifties, and the big band sound was already gone, and I was raised on blue grass but married a man with some class and loved big band! LOL!! I'm so lucky!
  • Savory Asiago One Minute Muffin
Okay, I wanted something I could eat with an egg this morning and decided to try to make a savory muffin. Results....I'm not too impressed. I used Asiago cheese, pinch of onion and garlic powder, a pinch of oregano, no splenda, 1/4 tsp of soda and one egg. I think in reminds me of soap. The muffin puffed up and had the same consistency, but just wasn't that favorful. Might try this one again, more cheese, a bit of splenda, or oregano. Didn't have a styrofoam cup, sorry! It toasted well and gave me something to make an egg sammie with.
  • Nan one thing I noticed when I mix savory spices into flax (for my cottage cheese or my quiche crust) Salt and Pepper and parm cheese Also dried Minced onion b/c flax has NO FLAVOR on its only save for the back ground nuttyness
