  • Quote: Apparently, there is no way to get an unbiased answer here. The only person who gave me information on how they actually thought that I could do it, had their post removed.

Thank you all for chiming in about how I should not do it...that was not my question. I appreciate your concern.
I'm sorry, I'm not usually one to be confrontational, but you asked a question and received multiple well-informed answers. The fact that we weren't willing to supply inappropriate, unhealthy information does not make it "unbiased", I feel it makes educated, thoughtful, concerned responses. (I personally don't enjoy the extra 100 lbs I have gained so if there was a way to lose 50 lbs and keep it off, I would be the first person to say "sign me up"!!)

I think your response was insulting on many levels. A few of the responses you received were from individuals I highly respect and turn to for support on this website. They are intelligent and well educated in the various manners of weight loss.

So, if we weren't willing to conform to your request, maybe you would be better served elsewhere. If you are willing to lose weight in a healthy, natural and realistic manner, please hang around, this is a wonderful site.
  • I do agree with the others, I don't think they're being biased, just being honest. Even on the Biggest Loser they normally don't lose that much in 8 weeks unless their starting weight is very high (300+). Why not try for 20 instead which is more realistic then 50? You'll still look great after a loss of 20lb.
  • I suspect the OP has left and won't be back. Her only posts were in this thread and she didn't get the "quick fix" answer she wanted. That's too bad ... I hope that maybe someday she'll come back under different circumstances!!

  • Nicole, As far as losing 50 pounds in 8 weeks...I don't see how that can be done in a healthy way but why not just make healthy eating your goal and not worry about the time limit? You'll lose enough weight in 8 weeks to feel and look great. You'll be very proud of yourself and that will boost your self-confidence. Good luck!
