  • Quote: Fellow geek here!

I'm probably worse than you, though: I used to go to Star Trek conventions in costume!
Actually...my husband and I are members of the 501st, which is the worldwide (professional, movie quality) Star Wars costuming group-we work SECURITY at the conventions, and do the parades, etc. We make our own costumes as well from scratch...here are pics of me and my husband. He is the one standing, being goofy for the camera. (Backstage getting dressed for a promotional event...)

  • My friend will be in her heaven...

She has every harry potter cover "version" in english, french, japanese, chinese...etc She has the children's cover, the adult cover etc etc.

She's still waiting to get the few languages for the last release (#7).
  • I think it really depends with me. I ordered Deathly Hallows before it even got a name. Pretty much the day HBP was out, I went to the lady keeping the names and said to her "Please sign my name and and phone number again for when you order the last book (since I live in Cyprus, the English versions are ordered to come on the day the English version is released). Being extremely geeky I would order it if the extra scene had something to do with Snape (yep a fangirl of his since book 1). -_-0

Okay so that's really elfing cool!
  • Wow!
How do they make the storm troopers costumes,
it looks like they have to be cast?

    k
  • frogponder-yes, the hard armor pieces have to be cast. After that, there is lots of painting, drilling, sewing, sanding, installing, electrical doohickeys, and other things involved.

It took months to do each of our costumes...
  • That's pretty cool!
