  • Not feeling tired, and not being embarrassed to have my picture taken, that is the same for me! I do notice a tiny bit of a difference on the tiredness now that I've been exercising. I still hate seeing myself in photos these past 2 years. I use every excuse to get out of the frame if I can, and I am usually the one taking the pictures now.
  • I'm looking forward to liking myself in pictures too. I have always been camera shy because of my weight. Hated seeing that second chin!
  • Quote: Chey, I can go you one better, I would like to be able to drop down on one knee and tie my shoe lace then jump back up, and continue on my 3mile run.
Yes, you did one up me!

Everyone... now - the next time you feel down, and don't feel successful - come back to this thread and re-read what you and everyone else posted. I know that with each and every small goal that I keep in my mind, I am going to put another 'what am I looking forward to'' item on my list. Instead of having a bikini clad model on my fridge (totally unrealistic) , I have my list.

Another "What am I looking forward to'' item...

I want to be able to buy a matching bra and panty set where the bra underwires aren't digging into my breasts and the panties aren't hidden under my belly!!!!
  • I'm looking forward to -

Being able to shop in the "normal folks" side of the store again.
Being able to fit the size 14s I bought the last time I lost weight.
Being able to wear fitted tops without worrying about if my midsection makes me look like the michelin man.
Being able to wear a one piece swimsuit and not feel like a beached whale.
Being able to take pictures again and feel like I look good in the pictures.
Not being afraid to meet a guy in person that I've met online, due to the fear that he'll think I'm a fat pig and not be attracted to me.
  • Quote: Being able to wear fitted tops without worrying about if my midsection makes me look like the michelin man.
This is one of the main things that made me want to lose weight too. I hated sitting down or leaning over and having rolls above my jeans. Yuck. They are definitely getting better, though, going away a bit, and I know yours will as well!
  • I love these posts, as I was reading them I so agreed with everyone and it is so exciting to think that I can solve these problems for myself.
I want to go to Disneyworld without the fear of just spending my time walking around because I can't fit into a ride.......I want to ride a rollercoaster!
  • I love these posts too November2007. As I read them, I think to myself.. "yeah, me too.." Yes, I want to be able to sit in a seat without looking for a double without having an armrest in the middle...
  • I'm looking forward to being able to go into any store and find clothes that fit me & look good.

Including a nice pair of boots!
  • i'm looking forward to feeling GOOD about myself, mentally and physically.

    and having more energy!!

also i'm looking forward to wearing a bikini and not feeling like people are wondering WHY i would ever wear a bikini.

AND wearing a tight fitting top and not constantly pulling it away from my belly.

a lot of it's kinda superficial but oh well.
  • Me too I also share almost all of these concerns. My top looking forward things are:

    Being healthy
    Having energy
Not having to worry that if I sit on it it will break

    and most of all....

Not having "you MUST lose weight" at the top of my To Do list!
  • Quote: Being able to wear fitted tops without worrying about if my midsection makes me look like the michelin man.
i'm looking forward to this too.

I'm looking forward to liking who i see in the mirror and not feeling like i'm embarrassing my fiancee when we hang out with his friends
  • Almost...............there.

If I had just 3 more inches in length to my arms, I could tie my shoes without hitching my feet up to my knees!

I have determined that by the time I will be able to wear fitted tops, the style will be such that I will look pregnant! LOL I went to buy a couple new tops because I have been floating in the ones I have and the style is that babydoll or high waisted. Tried a couple on and I looked pregnant!
  • I am looking forward to:

Not being the biggest woman in the room...
Shopping in regular size stores (but I will miss the Avenue)...
Being the healthiest person in the room..
Looking younger than my age, rather than older...and
Yeah tying my shoes without hitching my foot up to my knees!

Thanks for this thread I love it!
  • I thought of more

    I am looking forward to:

Not being afraid to try something, sit somewhere, go somewhere because I am afraid that because of my weight and size I will fail or not fit.

And I forgot my biggest goal...to be thin enough to ride a burro down the grand canyon! goofey but true!
  • I am looking forward to:
    Not being the "fat friend"
Not having to shop at fat girl stores
Having more energy to chase my children
    Not being camera shy
    Having self-confidence again
Bending over without the "fatty grunt"
    Fitting into my skinny family
Being a role model for healthy living to my children
Wearing all the great clothes in my wardrobe that are too small
Giving away all of these GIANT clothes that I have been forced to acquire

Oh yes, and SHOPPING, SHOPPING, SHOPPING for cute clothes in smaller sizes!
