But unfortunately, it's true azmom. Our metabolisim DOES slow down as we get ummm, older. And it's just gonna get worse from here on in. If we were to eat & exercise the same exact way year after year, we would gain weight as we get older, because, uh-huh - our metabolism slows down.
I am 44, formerly morbidly obese (for close to 20 years), in full blown menopause and all of 5 feet tall. Actually, I'm about 4 feet 11 1/2 inches. I simply do not require, sadly, many calories to sustain myself. When I am in losing mode, I *aim* for under 1200 calories. 1100 is where I end up most days. And that's with lots of exercise. My maintenace calories are not much more. That's not what I like mind you, but that's the facts.
I make my calories count. They are highly nutritious. I go to the doctor often and have my blood taken often. The only vitamin I am deficient in, is Vitamin D. Which is very common. My hair and nails are in the best shape they've ever been. And so is the rest of me.
I really believe when *they* speak of never going under 1200 calories, it is a "general" rule. For the "average" person. I am by no means average. I'm way under average, if nothing else, in height alone, not to mention all those other factors I've got going against me.
