What is with these weight charts!?!?!?

  • Things like that are interesting... My WW Online says my goal is 111. I know that's not totally unreasonable, but the thinnest I've been in my adult life was 115, and I was wearing a size 2 then. I really have no desire to weigh 111.

Speaking of strange charts/goals/whatever, I once saw an online store that called a size 6/8 a large. I know vanity sizing exists, but that's insane!
  • I saw your height is the same as mine girl anachronism (5'4). I am supposed to be 111??? HA! Yah right...
  • Woo-hoo. Now that I can post links, I can show y'all what I meant before.

If you look in the text on the left, it has a link in Step 2 that tells you how to find your frame size. If you use a measuring tape and the chart on the page in the link, you can find it easily. Then, you can plug in your info and have a more accurate weight. It does clearly explain that it will not be accurate for those with an "athletic" build (who have more muscle mass than typical for their size).

Seems a little more reasonable than other charts I've seen before. Puts my optimum weight at 127 - 141 pounds, and I'd say I'm carrying 5-10 lb more than "ideal" for my frame right now, so seems right on the money for me.
  • Fluffy- Yes that is much more realistic to me, thanks for the link. It is a reminder that we don't have to be in the thinnest possible body ever--just to be healthy!
