  • OMG I'm sure it was alot for me too! I would eat McDonald" AT LEAST 3-4 times a week. I always ate late at night and it was always junk. I'm eating more food healthy food now, about 6 times a day. I used to eat one meal, mostly fast food and snack alot after that, so it's like I am eating more but the weight is coming off. LOVE IT!
  • If I had to guess...I would say somewhere between 3,000 and 4,000 calories a day.

    BREAKFAST
Bacon, egg and cheese on a large bagel

    LUNCH
    Cheese steak and french fries

    SNACK
    Maybe a donut

    DINNER
    Various high calories things

    SNACK
pint of ice cream from Wawa...about 800 calories alone.

Can you see why I am thrilled to have lost 13 pounds and on my daily routine of 1200 calories.... I was making myself sick...UUGGGHH
  • I counted before I changed my calorie count. At home, a typical day could be 3000 easy. If I was out all day, doing errands, more like 5000. Not to mention all the sodium from fast food...!

  • I'd guess around 3000 on a "normal" day, but I could binge eat with the best of them! It was nothing to me to eat an entire box of cereal bars (the one food I refuse to bring into my house and avoid at all costs --- Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal bars, to be exact).

More importantly, I was a lazy bum! I'd sit on my behind all day long doing nothing. Between controlling the binge eating and exercising, I finally feel in control!
  • I agree with what a lot of people are saying here I probably was consuming between 3500-5000+ calories a day. I was big on ice cream and I love potatoes in any form (mostly mashed with butter and cheddar cheese). I also ate lots and lots of cheese, like beyond Steve Urkel portions. It hasn't been that long since I have changed my diet but when I think back about what I would eat regularly it kinda grosses me out about the quantity and quality of food that I was putting into my body.
  • Probably 5,000+....I binged, bad.
  • I'd say I was ~1500-2500 on any given day, I'd say about 2000 average. I never really ate enough to gain, but never little enough to actually lose weight either.
  • LOTS! It was nothing for me to eat a big mac value meal and just devour it, lots of doritoes without even thinking about it, a big bowl of ice cream. We would have big meals for supper -- roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, deep dish pizza and eat a few slices. Buffets were a big one too. I had no concept how many calories I was putting in my mouth. Now that I am conscious of what everthing has for calories it makes me almost sick when I think of how easily I could pack it away. I would say I consumed 3,000 - 5,000 calories a day. Do I miss it? You betcha. I miss being very carefree and eating whatever I felt like. Do I miss feeling like I got hit by a truck at the end of every day? No Way! I am so much healthier and I have so much more energy that I don't think I could ever go back to that lifestyle.
  • I watched a TV programme last night where a 'Supersized' guy had his daily food intake analysed. In an average day he was eating 6400 calories!

I was neither a binger nor a big fast food eater pre-healthy eating but I was a decent cook and homebaker, so I would guess I probably ate about 2000-2500 a day.

  • Shelby897 is the beginner of my dreams! I sooo wish folks would do that. Just take any ordinary day and put all their food into fitdday.

It was mindblowing for me! Easily 3000 calories and we know how accurate my measuring probably was
  • You know I had to think about this all day. I'm a grazer and LOVE rich foods. I perfected my fettucine alfredo recipe and had it twice a week. I'd binge often enough, worked at a cafe, liked feeling full and ate when I was bored. I think I was eating around 2500 to 3000 calories a day, which actually really is surprising. I know I ate varied foods, many healthy ones, but still- wow!

I might weigh more than I think I do (I have no scale...) Now that I'm cutting down to 1450 calories a day, I really find it a challenge to eat healthy and feel satisfied. Counting calories, rather than choosing WW or another diet, has really opened my eyes.
  • You know, I want to add something here - January was a bad month for me, and saw me doing some binging, which was new for me. The MOST SHOCKING THING was that I could STILL eat an entire medium pizza, by myself, in one sitting. No, I am not kidding. I would have sworn up and down and back and sideways that there was, quite simply, no way that I could still eat that way, or even that much. I hadn't had take-out pizza in over ten months. And now I know why: I cannot eat just one slice... well, not yet, anyway.

Not a good thing. BUT - it was a good wake up call that it is an easy, comfortable slide back into old habits... even after 100lbs and the best part of a year. I just wanted to post that here - take it as you will.
  • I would assume about 2500 a day. I didn't gain super fast, but fast enough, about 35 lbs in about 2 years (yuck to actually have to say that!). I was never a binge eater, I just made very poor choices in what I would eat. Lots of fast food. Though I definitely had portion control issues at times!
