  • Hello, My name is Nikki and I to am a salter...
  • My mom is a nurse and has a history of hypertension...She uses sea salt because the doctor told her it has less sodium than table salt. I would hope that what a doctor says is true! LOL...Who knows! Hope that helps1
  • Sea salt and kosher salt have less sodium per volume, but the same amount per weight. Since most people measure salt with a spoon (and not on a scale) it does have less sodium then regular salt measured the same way.

Salt is not evil. It is a necessary part of a healthy diet when used in moderation. Yes, Americans consume too much salt, but most of that is due to eating a lot of processed foods. If you make most of your meals at home I wouldn't worry about it. If you had known salt sensitivity I'd say that it'd be more important to monitor it.
  • Quote: maybe? It was yesterday and I had: whole wheat toast with peanut butter, a 6" teriyaki chicken sub at subway with no cheese or condiments, some meatballs I made with spinich, ground turkey, and bran, and a roll. And fitday said 4300 mg sodium!
Ya, I bet it's the teriyaki. I'm pretty sure "teriyaki" is really japanese for "way too salty"
  • thanks for the info ladies
