Happy Thanksgiving!!
It's my favorite holiday.
This year it's going to be really weird.
I think I'm just going to try to get down 3 bites of turkey. Or may 1 bite turkey, 1 bite stuffing. And a bite of ham.
That's all I get. 3 bites. - No time to be sick on the best day of the year!
thanks girls for the toaster oven idea.. think i better get myself one for christmas. Jiff , im going to try your mushroom recipe and thank you for sharing. im not into to many sweets yet but will write the apple crisp in my files. Im suppose to get veggies going in my foods but my first try and squash back fired fast!!! thought id try broccoli next .. anyone else got some good ideas for beginning the veggie stage? thank you all for your support , this has been such a helpful group...... carvinmom
Carvin - for starting veggies, start with the ones that AREN'T FIBROUS. that means - avoid winter squash [ya found that out pretty fast!!], sweet potatoes, celery, asparagus, carrots.
try peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, summer squash/zucchini, lettuce, [i had lots of trouble with cooked spinach! still do!]. green beans will work if they're on the soft side. mushrooms MIGHT be a little too chewy at this stage, but it's worth a try!
start slowly - really. and remember - what works today might not work tomorrow. then give it a few days, and try it again! things WILL settle down in a couple of months I PROMISE!!!!!
jax - your strategy is a good one, and it'll work AS LONG AS YOU MAKE SURE TO GET IN YOUR PROTEIN SUPPLEMENT!!!!!
and since you wrote on another thread that you're getting dizzy and need to see the doc [absolutely!!!!], getting in your protein is VERY IMPORTANT right now!!!!
