I think some people are wrapped up in their own things that they honestly don't notice. Other people see you all the time and the weight coming off comes off in dribs and drabs that they don't see it.

You could be me and only a couple of weeks ago did the exec director of my office say "Are you losing weight?" Too funny.

I am one of those people who doesn't notice when someone else looses weight, either! I can hardly tell myself that I have lost weight. Just seems sort of wierd to lose that much and not even see much difference myself.

I am still wearing my old clothes, which were pretty darned tight back at the beginning. Now they are all pretty darned loose, and I am embarking on the new clothes journey. Yay! I also have some favored items left over from last time I was thin that I will soon be able to wear. That is almost as much fun as shopping and it is free.

I'm with you on that one... quite often I don't notice the change at all - but then I try a skirt on that is suddenly too big, or I'm able to wear something I haven't worn in years.

Eventually you will get tons of comments!

If you are still wearing the same clothes, then that might have something to do with why people aren't noticing. You've noticed that you've gone from tight to loose, but just at a glance, you probably look "the same" to others.

I'm one of those oblivious people who used to never notice when people had lost weight. Honestly, when you are 340 lbs, almost everybody already looks thin (in comparison). I just wouldn't notice, because chances are, I would have loved to have been whatever size they were.

I had (and still have) the hardest time judging what size someone is.

But Gail, I bet you hear more responses when you wear smaller fitted clothing.

I find the same thing, that no one is really noticing or commenting right now. Of course, I've only lost 11 lbs. But, my hairdresser, who hadn't seen me in awhile, saw me the other day and couldn't stop going on about how noticeable my weight loss was. Really made me feel great! Also, maybe before you were really good at disguising how much you had to lose. In any case, keep up the great work!!

It is approximately 100 days since I started my "journey of better choices" I am at 172 this morning....the lowest I have been (3 times) in three weeks...the highest I have been at in the last 3 weeks is 174. So as of today I am down 29 pounds..........but..............

When I say my wife "do I look like I have lost weight?" I get a "Well, yea..I guess...I mean I know you have...and I see your belly isn't as big...but..well, I see you every day."

Now my daughter says sees it in my face, she says, after taking my current avatar and mini-goals pics, that Angie and I look younger than we did 11+ years ago when we got married...hummm...I see her around once every 2 weeks now....same with my son...I am not sure if he notices that much...but they both know I have lost weight, I tell them when I reach my milestones and they congratulate me.

I will say that two people I hadn't seen in a couple of months saw me and commented "WOW! You have lost a lot of weight." One was an 80 year old man at church I have known for 25 years and the other was a 16 year old friend of my nephews.

Go figure.

A few years ago I lost about 30lbs (from about 180 to about 150 - and on a 5'4" frame I sure noticed). A friend flat-out refused to believe that I'd lost that much, or even lost weight at all. I'm not sure what her problem was, but she basically accused me of lying about losing weight.

Makes me angry just thinking about it!

With friends like that, who needs enemies? That was mean.

Absolutely. They don't want this scenario! "God, you look good now! Have you lost weight?"

You: "Are you saying I am fat...or was fat... or not as fat now?"

She was probably just incredibly jealous and couldn't accept the truth. (Like I can't accept George Cloony has a girlfriend - he should be with me! )

Your story reminds me of my neighbour, one day she said to me that she heard I was on a diet.. I said yes and that I'd lost 17 pounds.... she said

"Wow, it doesn't show"

LOL

I just had to laugh about that one...
