I agree with you Stefani
Its not a magic wand or a quick fix. I totally understand the fraustration of failing everything. And the rudeness of people telling I was commited enough
or didnt exercise enough or blahblahblah
I cant beleive you would assume that I have not been your shoes when I have
I cant belive you would think that I dont understand when I do
wow that is bad assumptions. I hope I help clear it up.
I do wish more insurance companies would cover the lapband. It is reviersble & it is a tool. Its not a guarantee of weight loss
When we use to review for morbid obesity, we would check for the criteria of BMI over 40. If not 30 with complications.
When I went for my procedure I had a BMI of 39. I thought I would eat to a BMI of 40. because i was denied. I felt so self destructive. I thought my complications would be enough but of course they werent by the insurance
standards. I am happy now that I was denied but I was deviasted at the time. Even sucidal ish depression with my body & its reluctant to lose weight no matter what.
I found something that was like a miracle. If you have had surgery then you already have done it & are happy. God Bless
If you havent had surgery & thinking about it, then there is another option.
Thats all I wanted to say. Thanks for letting me say it
I will wipe off the rotten tomatos you all threw at me LOL
Again sorry misunderstandings aWhen I do understand more than you know
You judged me on my 10 posts & not my reallife experinces
please realize, thinchicsoon, that most of us would have been HAPPY with a BMI of 40. mine was 70. just as you don't want us to judge you on the basis of your 10 posts [which provided minimal information about you], we don't want to be judged on our decisions, especially as we have all spent several YEARS of exploration, dieting, thinking, getting information, etc, before making this choice.
it's apparent that you've walked in these shoes, and taken a different path. and that's fine. But please get your facts straight:
IF PROPERLY MANAGED, it is indeed possible to avoid malnutrition with the bypass.
if we view gastric bypass as an ILLNESS, we're pretty much doomed to fail, as that creates a 'poor me, i'm sick' mentality. it's all about attitude.
lapband is indeed a good choice for many people, and no one around here knocks it. it's not the right choice for other people, and that's why we urge everyone to get all the information they can, ask all the questions they can think of, and do their research.
we all make choices for ourselves, in the context of our own lives and experiences. Just as you have done.
Sorry again
DIdnt mean to judge. I felt very misunderstood & attacked
I only meant to help. Good luck

You felt misunderstood and attacked. How do you think we all felt? None of us are judging each other. We look for support and guidance and help any way we can. I had my GB in June of this year and am slowly going down and love every minute of my new life. Sometimes I only read when I visit this site and other times I add something. We're all in it for the long run.
Blessings.
