when did you see results?

  • I'm the same as what others have been saying... I don't really see any changes in the mirror yet. I am down about 18 pounds and I have dropped a dress size or two - but looking in the mirror I don't see it yet...

But good job on feeling better - that's what's most important, right? Keep up your hard work!
  • I saw it probably at about 25 pounds, but when I noticed it I noticed it, so smaller things must have been going on. It just hit me one day while I was looking in the mirror.

Also I've found that weight training really helps things start to look better faster.
  • I also have not noticed anything yet. Just have patience and you (and myself) will see it! I bet within the next couple weeks!!
  • i think it depends on your body type, and how much you need to lose. i'm petite, short, have a small frame, and didn't have a lot to lose. even though i didn't have so much to lose, it felt like i had carried a lot of weight on my small frame. so, when i had lost the first 3-5 pounds i could feel it, noticed minor changes in my face, and clothes started feeling a lot looser too.

you're doing really well, 4 pounds is a great accomplishment after only 2 weeks! keep working at it, and it will all be worth it.
  • I still can't really see a differnece and Ive almost lost 30lbs. Everyone tells me that im real smaller then what I used to be. So as long as everyone else can see that im loosing weight then I must be! lol.
  • I started seeing results after losing about 15 pounds, which took around 6-7 weeks. I noticed I dropped a pants size and that my love handles and backfat were not nearly as prominent. That's not to say I don't have a loooong way to go, but at least I look good in clothes now (I hate the way I look naked, but at my HW, I hated the way I looked in anything).
  • PS: I'm not sure why, but we're all so critical of our bodies. Like, even when I was thin and wore a size 2, I thought I was fat and saw my fat 14 year old body staring back at me while naked.
  • I know exactly what you mean Shane! I was just telling a friend the other day that in high school I thought I was so fat, but now, 5 years later, I'd die to have my high school body back! I'm sure that's how most of us feel! I think one of the things I'm learning as I get back into shape and focus on a healthier lifestyle is that my body is not as bad as I think it is. Even though I still have a lot of weight I want to take off, I'm finding it easier to find the things about my body that I DO like, and realizing that it could be a lot worse. So there's another good side effect of all this working out and eating better!

oh man, i totally feel you there. right now, i'd kill for the body i had before gaining this weight. before, i didn't think i looked good at all, and didn't appreciate my wonderful and healthy body..until now! lol. i completely agree with you Brittany, this whole process has definitely taught me to learn about a healthier life style, and not putting so much importance on being thin and my physical appearance 24/7.
  • good question. I've been wondering this myself. I haven't lost much weight but I've definitely lost tons of inches. I've dropped two sizes. Nobody has really noticed yet. But I've also got a lot of weight to lose so I'm realistic in expecting people not to notice until I get another 30 pounds off. Lots of interesting replies!
  • I am just now really noticing changes. People I haven't seen in a long time have noticed, but people I see a lot haven't really. I am finally now in 16's and can't imagine being in 14's anytime soon. All of my fat is on my hips and my belly is all mush from a c-section and another abdominal surgery.
  • seeing myself in pictures after a 20 pound loss was a pretty good feeling - comparing a fat and a thin(ner) photo i could see the results even though i only lost a size. this was a few yrs ago - i have since gained it all back....but im working on it

plus i think since you are exercising so much you will probably notice your clothes fitting better and you will be feeling more toned(assuming you are weight training as well - if you arent already light weights a couple times a wk might help) even if you dont necessarily see the scale move.
  • I've only lost about ten pounds so far and I don't see it...but I feel it in the way my clothes fit. The sleeves are looser on my arms, the waist on my jeans isn't so snug, etc.
  • I saw changes in my face (double chin) in less than 10 pounds.
  • Yeah, I would say after losing 15lbs. I couldn't really tell, but I pulled up some old pictures of myself when I was heavier and I could tell a big difference in my face. Plus, I went down a size in pants so that helped. But, looking the mirror, no...no difference.
