Another interesting fact is that he is supposedly part of an investigation (Federal I think) into that police dept. for discrimination. The way they brought that up made it sound like it may even be considered a possible setup by others in his dept. since he caused this investigation against them. Being a cop, he would've known they were going to check his phone records when he claims to have called her. I just hope it doesn't turn into another Lacy or Jon Bennet case that drags on for years before a conclusion.

Unfortunately domestic violence is a prevalent problem in law enforcement homes. It’s estimated that domestic violence is 2 to 4 times more common in police families than in the general population. Sadly most police departments don’t provide adequate resources or intervention, too many are willing to turn a blind eye. And these are the people that are supposed to protect us?

I've heard this before, too. I suppose part of it is the fact that law enforcement is typically a male-dominated field, and men tend to encourage that rugged suck-it-up attitude about this stuff. I also bet the high exposure to violence and strife desensitizes people to violence within their own lives. That, and stress probably plays a factor. I don't envy the work of a police officer, and I definitely appreciate their role in society. Personally, I think I'd struggle with depression if I had such a job.

It's not only prevalent in the police fields, but in the military as well. You know after the whole Lacy case, they are definitely looking at the husband for this one. It's cases like these where I definitely support not only indicting someone for the murder of the female, but also the baby as well. Not sure if they did that in Lacy's case, but they should've.

For some reason I am thinking it is not the ex, not sure why. Wouldn't you think though that the little boy would say "Daddy put mommy in the rug" if it had been him? I don't know...I guess there's really not a lot to go on right now. I know that he's had problems in the past but I'm not getting the feeling it was him.

When the Lacey thing happened I knew in my gut it was her husband that did it. In the JonBenet case...no matter what the evidence says, I still think the parents had something to do with it...with this one, not so sure. Just don't know how he would benefit from killing her. They were already seperated and he had a girlfriend so it wouldn't be for that reason. Not sure if there was an insurance policy or what. It will be interesting to see who it is and why. I would like to see them actually find her alive but I am pretty sure she is dead. It's just sooo sad that a person would even think about killing another person let alone a pregnant woman with a baby in the house.

This is such a sad story. That poor little boy... does anyone know who he with now ? Grandparents? And any new news on whether that baby is her's or not?

The latest news is that the baby is not hers. It was abandoned by another woman.

I thought that too (about the kid saying "daddy put mommy ...") but as someone said, the dad could have been in disguise. Also, the kid may have said that, but media may have edited that part out until they know the facts.

Some of the quotes I've read don't make him sound innocent. One would assume he'd be beside himself with grief, and he sounds angry that he's being treated like a suspect. I would almost expect to be closely examined if my boyfriend went missing. I would think that the only sentiment I'd express, if my spouse were missing, is "OK, whatever, if finding the killer means looking at me than by all means do so and get on with it" and he seems to be more of the mindset of "why are you accusing me?"
