Well, for the less pain, fatter would be better when getting a tat. But, we all know skin changes as you lose/gain weight. So unless you're getting it on an area that won't change much - back of the neck or something - wait until you're at goal weight AND wait until the skin's sorted itself out into where it's going to be for good. Just like how everyone says to not get tats on the belly/hips area if you're planning on getting preggers, cause the skin will get totally stretched out of shape and may never quite be how it was again, which leaves you with a warped-out tat.
I'm sorry, if I'm hijacking the thread with all the tat stuff...it's just something I'm really into.

I was working as a cashier in a quickie-mart when I was 19, and a customer asked when I was due. After I let that question wash over me (yikes), I quickly let them know, with a big smile, that "Oh no, I'm just fat!"
