I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone.
You should have heard all my "doubting friends" at lunch today ! Telling me terrible these diets are, how the FDA said so, blah blah blah !!! I had to bite my tongue from asking them... "So, how is the low fat/low calorie diet working for all of you ?" They are bigger now then they were 10 years ago when I met them. I can't WAIT to lose this weight and to show them !!! I know, that probably sounds a bit shallow but they were not nice about this at all ! We know that this way of eating IS healthy and we're doing it !
I'm still checking into all the different plans out there. Today, I picked up the newer version of Protein Power. I was reading the older version this morning and found it very interesting... I've not really gotten to the part about what to eat etc... to see how it's different from Atkin's yet ? We'll see later on when I get to read it some more. Meanwhile... I'm still counting my carbs and trying to keep it down to 20. I've been over a bit actually alot on Sunday when I didn't have my book with me and I passed on onion rings and had some rice pilaf instead. I had remembered reading in one of the books ? that if the rice didn't stick together... that it wasn't high glycemic ? Needless to say - that REALLY put me over for the day !!! I'm still learning and won't make that mistake again. Yesterday, I think I was just under 30. Not perfect but alot better than the 100+ that I was last week before starting this lifestyle.
Anyway, I was so impressed by someone (maybe Sue ?) who had lost 58 lbs. so far on PP that I went out and bought the book ! Thanks !
