Kelly, I know that Pretty didn't say anything about being diabetic, but I do have another friend who joined WW who needed the same type of information because she is diabetic.

Sometimes it is hard to "read" what someone else is saying on here, and people tend to jump to conclusions about how they are saying it. I know errors in judgement can be made if something is taken a certain way, and then tempers get riled. We're all here to help each other in any way that we can, and I think everyone offered good suggestions for the original question.

Sorry if you were offended about. BTW I did apologize to her and then she got more assistence the best we could advise as jumped down or necks. She has yet to respond to that. She was the one with a 'tude not us. We tried.

Oh and I also have diabetic friends who do W/W and they don't use those exchanges but that is just an experience I have with it....not saying is the norm or not or right or wrong.

Some people find that their weight loss is better on the old selection plan. I am a person who was not successful on Core because I am a compulsive overeater and I do not have the "satiety point" that most people have.

Thanks to everyone for your help. I did not have the attitude, you all appeared to be the ones with attitudes. I asked for assistance in finding a Food Companion from years ago and you all jumped on me about why would I want to follow that plan when the points are so much simpler and easier. I can appreciate if that's what you like but my question wasn't about points vs exchanges - all I was asking was how to find the Food Companion book.

So did you find the books that you were looking for? I know you said that you checked ebay, but have you looked there again. I know sometimes I have to check every couple of weeks to find what I want. You can also try Amazon, Overstock, Half, or Alibris (all of them dot com). I know I've found some rare, out-of-print books on those. Especially Alibris, oh and there's AbeBooks dot com. I just checked and they have some of the exchange program books for sale. You can try just googling for the book and see what you come up with. There are a lot of sites that sell out-of-print books. Good luck!

I found a book which gives diabetic exchanges. I haven't been able to find the exact WW Food companion however. I did find a website which has a snippet of foods listed from the Food Companion but that's as close as I've come to the exact WW information.

Most people want to do this type plan because it is healthy and you don't have the opportunity to eat junk and then complain about slow or no loses. Woman's Day magazine website has a great selection plan for free. It works very well.

Don't know if you are still looking for a selections plan like the one WW use to have but I came across this site - I think this will help you out.

This weight loss journey is hard, very very hard and any negativity can send one diving for a bag of cookies. You are right on all counts in your reply, but what I liked about your reply the most was the strength you have that this is what YOU want to do and it's only about you. And it is. I'm only starting my second week and I have had nothing but a positive experience and alot of support. It's a great place to be and it works for me better than the WW meetings. INHTSE, we gave her both support and tried to help her. Unfortunately most of our efforts in help fell on deaf typing fingers (total teasing tone). I even offered to look in my old cookbooks from selections to try to help her.

BTW if you think weight loss is hard wait until you hit maintenance it ... weight loss is easy compared to that.

Thanks Kelly for clarifying some points for me. I see both of your points of views and see where you are both coming from. I should of also replied to you at the same time and I apologize for not doing so. I'm here to support everyone whether or not it is WW, SB, Atkins....Points, Core......whatever, it doesn't really matter much what it is, the great part of 3FC is that it is a place to come and be yourself.

I'm sorry that you are finding Maintenance hard, I have a friend who has lossed over 75 pounds on WW points system and she has had a tough time as well. Although she does not know it, she is part of my motivation for joining....she allows herself about a 5-7 pound gain and then reigns it right back in, goes back to meetings and her cottage cheese....until she gets back down. Hopefully you can find some way that will work for you on Maintenance.....

Oh what I mean is in general maintenance is harder for everyone than the losing. I have no big problems with it at all. I don't think you are understanding my point at all so I'll stop now.
