I alternate between doing morning and afterwork exercises -- if I sleep at a decent hour and don't wake up all groggy still tired, I'll do them in the morning. Otherwise (or if I'm anticipating a stressful work day) I'll do it after work. Sometimes I may do half (cardio) before and half (weights/toning) after.

I have an exercise bike in front of the TV - I get up extra early and make sure to get in at least an hour.

I'm with the early morning at home ladies.

I've had the same treadmill for eight years and have added a recumbent bike (that I really don't like) and a little cheap weight bench with hand weights. The equipment was previously in the living room. We now have a dedicated room for it, which is nice. There's just enough floor space to do a video, if I want something different.

If you don't have room for equipment at home, videos work fine. The Biggest Loser DVD is great. I've misplaced it in the most recent move and am getting desperate to find it.

I see you live in California so it must be nice most of the time there during your lunch hour. Go for a walk at lunch and there's your "you time" ... I enjoy running and run in -4F weather, so living in CA there is no excuse not to walk...

I think the key word is cram, I cram my life around my exercise, not the other way around, exercise is an "A" priority all the way

You people are awesome! So dedicated to our little cause! And I am not being sarcastic here. I am unfortunately not that disciplined, but I manage to get to the gym at lunchtime on the days I work from the office rather than from home. I go around 1:30pm so by 2pm a lot of people have cleared out. When I'm not working at the office, I just haven't been that disciplined about going to the gym or my other option, a walk in the park (there's a really nice 4 mile route along the Hudson River). So now I'm in the process of getting a home elliptical so that I'll have no more excuses. I'm planning on doing an hour Fri (I'm off), Sat and Sun, and any other day that I work from home. Hoping this is the answer to my problem of either being too busy around the house or out running errands or visiting family, and sometimes just being lazy, to get myself out of the house to exercise.

I don't try to set aside a large chunk of time to exercise. I walk one mile each on my morning and afternoon breaks at work. After work I drop by the gym for 30 minutes of circuit training. There is some scientific evidence to suggest that small doses of exercise broken up throughout the day work better than one big chunk. I know that in my case it is producing good results.

whatever works for you is best.....in the warmer weather when the sun stays out longer, I feel more like doing things after work...but now, it was 20 degrees this AM, snowing, YUCK....the livingroom and some music is what I need. I don't LIKE the extra early day, but I know it's the only time I'll do it, so I'm determined.

A lot of my "exercise" isn't really exercise at all! Not to me, anyway.

If the weather is tolerable, I head for the door with one of my dogs and just walk. I don't dedicate a certain amount of time or a certain distance, I just walk. Whatever feels right to my body is what I do.

(This one is kinda crazy, so bear with me) I vacuum about 3 days a week. Not the entire house or anything, just certain rooms. It gets me up and moving, and I figure that's better than nothing.

I hop on the treadmill in the mornings for 30-45 minutes before I get ready for class, and then throughout the day I find little ways to keep myself moving. Even if I'm standing at the sink washing dishes, I finish a dish, then walk to the cabinet and put it away. Hey, I'm moving, and that's what counts, right? Same thing with laundry.

I know if I put something in close reach so I don't have to MOVE to get to it, then I'm just harming myself.
