  • Ok I realized today that I need to find a Diet buddy like they do in AA. Someone I could call any time any day of the week. Today is day 4 and I had my first real crisis. Somehow I got talked into my good friend coming over to make pizza for dinner and then let the kids play for a while. Normally this would be great. I would buy some wine, we would eat some pizza all would be fine because I would not be on a "diet". Anyway, i kept thinking ok who could I call to talk this through. I thought of this fourm and is why i am writing now but I wished i had something at the time. Not a friend/ not a realitive. someone who I barely knew who would talk me through the rough times just like in the AA program.
OK here is the great news I helped make pizza-- I did not have any. I also made my friend take home the leftovers. I also drank only water. I then made myself a salad. I made it through. I am so happy right now that i didnt fall into my usually traps. I am trying the one step at a time approach this time and it worked tonight. I kept saying to myself ok just go 10min without pizza now go the next 10 min. and so on and soon it was time for them to go and the pizza was with them. yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for listening
  • Ok, girls, I wanted to introduce myself. I just started doing the Fat Smashers Monday. This is my 3rd day and so far so good. It was hard at first because I like to snack at night. I can say, however, my DH has made it a lot easier. He's doing it too! I cheated and weighed myself this morning and it was after I already had breakfast and I had some clothes on. It said I had lost 5lbs!! I just wanted to get to know some of you and maybe be able to get some support and give some also. Congrats to all the ones that have stuck with it and thank you for inspiring people like me.
  • Good Morning All!

sgregg~ Way to go on your loss so far! My dh is doing FS with me, also. It really helps. He has lost twice as much as me, though. lol. Men just lose faster than women. I am still hanging in there, though.

madiwy~ CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am a sucker for pizza. You are so strong. I understand the need for a diet buddy. Someone who would be there when you needed them... no matter what. That would be nice.

Ladean~ Thanks for letting Linda know that we are missing her. I was getting concerned about her. She is usually a consistant poster. But, I know as well as anyone that sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day to be able to sit down and post a message.

Paige~ You are doing so good!! I haven't seen Mary posting lately. I will go back and see when she posted last.

    Have a great day!

  • Hello Everyone -

Welcome to the newbies. You will love it here!

It has been a good week for me. I am down 2 lbs for the week and I am up to 14 minutes running. Tomorrow I am going to try for 20 min running...not sure I can do it but I am hoping to be running 30 min within the next week. I think this will help me get the last lbs off. I am now running 3 days per week on top of the 5-6 days in Jazzercise.

I ate at an Italian restaurant tonight so that ravioli definitely wasn't allowed on P2. I am going to have fish 3 days a week on P2 and thats the only change I am making from P2, I will see how it goes. I guess if I can get 2 lbs off per week I will be ok with that.

    Have a great weekend. Lem
  • Hello Everyone
This is my second day on Phase one woohoo, I have a question ladies what day does everyone weigh in, and does everyone weigh in once a week or twice a week thanks.

    PhillyPrincess
  • Hey all,

I have been going and going all day. Dh is home and we tend to go the whole time he is here.

Lem~ you are doing so good! Way to go on the running.

PhillyPrincess~ Congrats for making it to day 2! We have a weekly weigh in thread. Most of us have a normal day that we weigh in on. There is no "set" day. I weigh in on Thursdays and that is when I post my weight. So if you already weigh in on a certain day.. or have a particular day in mind.. then go ahead and weigh and post your weight. I only weigh in once a week. I think that all of the other ladies do too.

    Good luck!

  • Maybe you should start back with Spanish I and stick it out. No doubt the very beginning is going to be very easy for you, but maybe the middle and end of spanish I is what you need to refresh for spanish II. Maybe you talk to the professor? Good luck!
  • Hello everyone! I just found this diet yesterday and bought the book today. I will start tomorrow or Monday! I started a "Biggest Loser" Club at work and also some friends outside of work. There are 11 of us. It was $20 to join, and an additional $5/month to stay in the contest. Largest % loss wins the pot! Money is also a motivator for me! I had enough junk in December that I am already craving the good stuff. By the time the holidays are over, I'm tired of the cookies etc... and crave fruit. However, veggeis will be a challenge. Last Thursday mu kids and i had our picture taken fro the pictoral at church. Next to my skinny kids I looked broad as a building! I wish they would have positioned us differently. However, they say everything happens for a reason - guess the reason for this "fat" picture is that it will be a great motivator for me. Good luck to everyone! I am looking forward to being a fellow "smasher"!

  • Saturday was a little tough for me. I had a slip and had a few items not on the list ( a couple handfuls of popcorn, and some pretzels) I guess it could of been worse. but i am right back on program today and I jogged yesterday and today for an hour.
_ Lem way to go on your jogging. That is exactly how I started and now I can go for an hour. What I noticed is that once I get past that first 20 to 25 minutes then I get into a real groove and can keep going. I am wayyyyyy slow though. I am sweating hard, but as soon as my lungs start to burn I slow up and get my breathing under control. If I go too fast then I cant go very long.
My son starts up at preschool again next week so I will have more time to workout. This will help a lot.
I also looked at the scale this morning. I am down 4 pounds. I am thrilled.
  • Way to go, madi!!
