  • Cher, that shouldn't be funny but I find myself laughing at the thought! Your face must have been priceless when you saw all the flies!!

I'm back home now -- the potty-fixing plumber should be here anytime. Meanwhile, I'll watch judge shows and start dinner. I still have my chicken tenders that I didn't make Monday night, so maybe tonight will be cornmeal chicken night. It will probably do me good to stay busy.
  • Spa day! That's what we need.

    Spa day for everyone!
  • Sounds good to me! I'm there!

    Angela
  • Hey do you guys want to start a new board? We talked about doing one every Monday but we missed this past Monday.

I think a group spa vacation sounds great. We could sit around, chat, have our feet massaged and eat all core foods. Yeah right!

I'm working late tonight, but looking forward to going to fazoli's for some ww penne tonight. Its new on the menu and I'm so glad to have a fast food option besides salad that is core. Its like what Angela said somewhere else (I think it was Angela), I don't want salads from fast food restaurants, they're usually pretty yucky. So tonight I am going to have ww penne w/spicy marinara and either chicken or shrimp on top. I'm going to give DH my breadsticks though.
I don't have my points calculator with me. I looked it up and the spicy marinara is 70 cals, 1.5 gms fat, and 3 gms fiber. Anybody know how many points that would be? I can look it up later, I'm just curious now. I've had too many points today, but I've been so hungry. I think its the pre-TOM monster.
I hope that everyone's day is going better (especially Frouf and Kathy!). Mine will be better once I get outta here!! Better run.
  • frouf, i'm hoping your tears helped relieve a lot of your tension. when i have heart problems, (extreme fatigue mainly) i usually wind up crying. that tends to relieve some of the tension (or at least the water buildup from congestive heart failure). anyway, i always start to feel better after a good cry. i think those of us who can cry are the lucky ones. we might blow up otherwise. it was good of dh to take you to the movies. that was very thoughtful of him.

kathy, i made the cornmeal chicken last night. we loved it. dh asked me if it was fish fried chicken; but he ate every bite. i'm going to make it again soon. i think next time i'll pound the chicken first. have you tried that? i'm just wondering how it would be. right now, i'm visualizing you, terry, and frouf on a rooftop throwing water balloons. sounds like fun to me.

okay, it's spa day for all of us. doesn't that sound good? wish we could do it.

i am listening to some kenny g right now. talk about relaxing. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
  • Melissa, I show 1 point for that.

Sandra, I guess my problem is that I'm not a cryer. I can't no matter what's going on with me. I should be glad, because you'd think if things were bad enough I could cry. Oh well.

I think DH and I are going to the movies this weekend to see Mr. and Mrs. Smith. We go about twice a year ... we're not big goers, whether it's out to dinner or movies or anywhere else. Maybe we should do that more often.
  • melissa, i didn't know fazoli's had ww entrees. that's fabulous. we're getting a fazoli's soon here in missoula.
  • Our Fazoli's just closed. There might be others, but the one I know about is either out of business or getting remodeled. The marquee says closed but the roof is off, so maybe they're doing some work on it.
  • Kathy, thanks for calculating that for me. That makes me very happy, I thought it was going to be around 3 pts. I'm looking forward to it! I think going out would be good for you two. Maybe even dinner and a movie??

Sandra, this is the first time I have seen Fazoli's with ww pasta, and I think it might just be a trial deal, I'm not sure. It's a "create your own pasta" thingy and one of the options is ww penne. I'm looking forward to eating fast food that is actually on plan.
  • melissa, i'm anxious for our fazoli's to open now. let me know how you like it.

kathy, my mother couldn't cry either. she always told me she wished she could.
  • This is really random but relates to the question I asked earlier about flavoring brown rice...would cooking it in chicken broth make it taste flavored? Or is that not strong enough? How about adding some boullion cubes? Any ideas on that?
I'm full of questions today. It is because I'm at work and bored.

And Sandra, I'm a big cryer. Always crying. Can't seem to stop. Seriously, I cry when I am happy, sad, mad, anything. Doesn't take much.
  • Cooking rice in broth is a great idea!! You could even use beef or vegetable broth too. The veg should be core but I don't know about the beef.
  • Hi Ladies! I had a real busy morning. Missed you all. Before I answer everyone's posts, I did want to say that I always cook my brown rice in chicken broth instead of water. It does give it some flavor and "body". Sometimes I add garlic powder too. It depends on my mood.
  • Before today, I hadn't had a pedicure in about 3 years. I REALLY missed it. I feel wonderful and pampered. Maybe a spa day would be a great idea. I really liked the new place that I went. They don't do any hair, just hands, feet, facials, massages, etc. It was very clean and pretty as are my toes! It's more than I should be spending but I really felt like I needed to do something special for myself that didn't involve food. I really need to stop spending now.

Terry, I've had a couple of little gains here and there. Having said that though, I understand completely how you feel. It's no fun to be good, follow the program and have a gain. It's gonna happen. You've lost so much so fast that I'm not surprised this happened. I'm sure your body is in shock. Just hang in there and you'll probably see a loss next week. I've actually had two small gains in a row and then lost 3.6 the third week. You aren't whining....and even if your were....there IS whining and crying in weight loss even though it's not allowed in baseball. Just stay on program kiddo. I'm sure you'll recover quickly.

Kathy, you sound pretty chipper in your recent blueberry message so I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better than your message from this morning. I'm sure your mood is affected by your missing your Sister. It's hard to stay on any program when your emotional mood is so sad. I hope your Sunday adventure will elevate your spirits!

Cher, you're killing me! I could picture the whole chain of events, including the swatting. What a night!

Now I was already laughing at Cher's story but then Sandra and Frouf finished me off. AP's for swatting and Frouf trying to get a fix on what level of activity to assign. Cut it out, you're killing me.

Frouf, I'm glad you're feeling better and that your DH is being a better partner lately. Movies on a Tuesday night is pretty sweet. Your Ex on the other hand...well let's just say he demonstrated one of the reasons that he is an EX husband! Try not to get to upset over your DS. No matter how hard you try, you just may not be able to prevent him from making life's mistakes.

I'm a big cryer and a big proponent of crying. I think tears release toxins. I think I've read that somewhere reliable. It is a real pressure relief valve for me. I cry when I'm happy, sad, angry, relieved, worried...we'll you get the picture!

Sandra, I'm glad you liked the cornmeal chicken. I just had it last week and already have a taste for it again. Jim would gladly eat it again this soon. He likes that and my chicken Fried rice alot too.

Fazoli's...OMG. I love Fazoli's. Ours closed and the other one is too far away. Which is just as well since what I used to get was very very fattening. We used to get the baked spaghetti with mozarella cheese and those rolls!!!!! Thanks for mentioing that. I'm drooling. I didn't know that the had ww pasta now. Melissa, why would you have to count points for marinara? Isn't marinara just tomatoes and spices?

I went to Ruby Tuesday's last night for dinner. Deborah recommended this restaurant some time ago and I was just finally able to get there to try it out. Thanks Deborah......it was FABULOUS! I wasn't perfectly Core but I was close. They have a fabulous salad bar. I had a big salad and I ate a turkey burger wrap in a whole grain ww tortillo with onion, tomato, and mustard and brown rice pilaf. They now use all canola oil. I figured a couple of points for some hidden things although I questioned them about ingredients and it all seemed Core. I figure the turkey wasn't lean enough and the rice pilaf was supposed to have a little cheese on it (although I didn't see any). This will be a place on my list of restaurants that I can go to with my friends once in a while.

Gotta go make some salad for dinner and snap those green beans!

There's a severed thunderstorm warning here until 9:00. As long as there are no tornados I won't be TOO scared!
  • Vickie, whew what a post! It makes me tired to think of all that typing.
To answer your question, the marina has about 9g of sugar in it. So I figured its not core. Isn't marinara only core if its sf/ff? Or am I wrong?
Your dinner at Ruby Tuesday's sounds great. I am so hungry!!
