The other question is about carbs/calories. I asked my coach about how many carbs I should be having in a day and he didn't actually answer my question. It was more just a 'follow the plan and you'll be fine' type answer. When you are all talking about carbs, are you counting IP products plus whatever type of veggies you're eating for the day?
If there's a better place to ask these questions (different thread or something), please let me know and I'll happily repost there.
IF you chose to work out I say do light cardio (keep your heart rate low) and resistance training because that will build muscle HOWEVER keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat SO don't focus too much on the scale and focus more on inches lost and how your clothes feel.Originally Posted by Becca7
Hey guys, hope you don't mind me asking a couple questions. The collective knowedge here seems to far surpass my coach, no offence to him - he's nice. I haven't been working out at all yet (I've been on IP 3 weeks) and I think I'd like to start. It sounds like most of you work out, do you know if it's better to start with cardio, or muscle building, or both? I have a good eliptical at home, but I know having more muscle will burn more fat. You should be -- and clearly are -- feeling great about that accomplishment and the results. I'm inspired by your compliance to the program!!! 8 weeks of no restricted foods and nothing off plan. How did you manage that?

San Francisco! I am so excited but anticipating it will be hard. I love the food up there! Amazing fish, sourdough, clam chowder, chocolate, wine, farmers markets! At least I can try for the fish and farmers market!
At least my family is very supportive of my efforts to keep going. I am blessed with a "skinny" family that doesn't desire much "junk" in the way of food. That keeps things easy.
