Ok Mande. SOunds cool! Yeah it is marketed as the low carb one. AND it already has more protein in it!!! My can says 20 grams of protein! So maybe if you get that even though it may cost a bit more it will still be alot cheaper than buying additional protein powder!!!
Yep! I'm going to look in to the various ones they have in Cold Lake. Our town is pretty small, so I'm surprised I found a grocery store carrying it at all,

. We have a population of about 5600 here

. All they had was the Optima here.

Adding fruit is great! Oh I need to look for the calcium link. Ladies, make sure you are getting enough daily calcium! Not only to prevent boneloss etc but I just read a week or so ago that they did a study on women who had more calcium vs. women who didn't and the women lost a LOT more belly fat!!! than the other women!! I'll go get the link!!
I heard about that. I tried to get more information on it, but couldn't find it. They fed the ladies yogurt, and although yogurt has Calcium, it also has a lot of other good things, like bacteria culture. I'd really like to see the refined details of that research to see exactly what their findings were when they looked at it more closely. But getting a good amount of Calcium in is a really good thing. And ladies, if you are taking a Calcium supplement, make sure you are taking one with Magnesium! Or else your body won't be able to absorb all the Calcium you are taking in!

Also think about how much of the food you eat. I avoid HFCS for the most part, but there is a big difference between the teaspoon of catsup on my bocaburger and a soda in how it will impact, even though they both have hfcs
I agree with you there. It is so darned hard to avoid HFCS though! I've been watching my ingredients, but finding it in sooo many things! We should start a boycott against HFCS added to foods!!

I'm pretty stress over the amount of christmas parties that I need to attend starting tomorrow. I know what I'm suppose to do, but will I have enough willpower? I'm not sure I'm strong enough, but we will see.
I know what you mean! I partake in some goodness, but I only try to sample a little of this, and a little of that. I also bring snacks in my purse to munch on to keep my mouth busy

Celery is great because it's virtually like water!

Happy to report that my son took 34 steps. I need to go shovel a path for him to get off the bus now. Wheelchairs and snow don't get along.
Congratulations

That is awsome!! And shoveling snow (as much as we hate it) is a great way to burn a lot of calories!

ennay thanks what im worried about is when i drink my morning cup of coffee i normally use 3 tsp
I use Splenda. I like that it measures cup for cup with sugar, and I really can't notice the difference

You can even buy it in a bag just like a normal bag of sugar, so no more packets!

So why are people going to so many holiday parties? Are these office parties or what?
When DF and I worked apart, that made for 2 office parties. Then 2 more parties for each of our families, then various parties that each of our friends were throwing. That can work out to be ALOT of parties hahaha. But since we work together now, it has eliminated atleast 1 party hehe.

Having worked in the grocery industry for 10 years let me just say the biggest way to save money is to make sure you are shopping at the right store. It may be the same chain of store, but every store has different prices based on the income of the shoppers in the area of town. For example in HEB in Houston one store can have milk for $3.29 a gallon and a store five miles down the road can have milk at $2.79 a gallon. This goes with all items in the store. Also make sure you that you are checking your reciepts especially on the day that the new add comes out. There are thousands of prices to change and there are some that do not get change and some of them are on the ad specials. See if your store will honor competitor ads as well and this will save you time. At HEB we would lower our price to match any competitor. Just a few ideas.
Those are some really great tips! I'm one of those people that will remember an item I picked up that advertised a sale, and when everything is being rung through, I watch, hehe. A bit annoying for the cashier's, I'm sure, but usually I will only have picked it up because it was on sale in the first place.

I have also heard the same thing as Jasmine no more than 3-4 grams of sugar per serving. I have even to heard to limit yourself to 3 fruits a day because of all the sugar. I don't listen to that advice and eat all the fruit I want.
Ditto. The only limit that I set to my fruits/veggies is that I eat all my fruits before noon, and all my veggies after. My body just feels better that way. If I have too much sugar later on in the day, I feel gross all evening/night.

My husband is picking up Subway on the way home. I always get the foot long veggie with no cheese. I've had 400 calories so far today because I did not want to go over my limit. I want to exercise 75 minutes tonight. It's easier when there is good tv on - Ghost Whisper
I like to eat the chicken breast with no cheese, and LF Honey Mustard. MMMmmmMMmm!

good morning everyone i was wondering if anyone heard that low calorie or llow/no sugar is better than low fat? what are you guys thoughts on that because i have been getting reduced fat and low fat items but now to find out it can loaded with sugar kind of makes me wonder
I tend to lean more to Low Cal. And I watch the nutritional information so that it's not too loaded with Sodium. Low Cal things usually have low sugar/low fat, but are pumped up in Sodium. Gotta watch that! As you get used to it, I promise it will get easier

Does anyone know WHY corn was mentioned as a sidekick superfood? I have been saving corn as a "treat" and not making it part of my staples. Now I read the superfood thread and it is supposed to be a superfood. What is wrong with corn tortillas again? uugghhhhh
I have no idea. Food balance can be so confusing sometimes!

. I generally eat corn about twice a week when I'm serving poultry to the whole house

Ooooh speaking of comfort foods - meatloaf. I never liked meatloaf as a kid, but I LOVE meatloaf now. Made with lowfat ground turkey, a serving is ENORMOUS. When you just feel the need to feel REALLY full - that is a great entree. Instead of covering the top with catsup I do a mix of no-sugar spaghetti sauce, catsup, and a little hot sauce and mmmmmmmmmm.....
Wholy Yum!!

I tried ground turkey once and didn't like it. I don't know if it was a bad batch or what. I now steer away from it. I did try the turkey burgers recently of course my husband was the first ginea pig and he loved it. I did too. So maybe I will attempt ground turkey again in a meatloaf (mmmmmmm meatloaf my favorite!!).
Lovin' the Turkey burgers!!
