Gary, thanks! I'm pretty excited!

Thanks Dtretv! What a sweet thing to say! Good for you starting today!
Eating a Carl's Jr. Burger without the bun and substituting a diet soda for a sugary one is a fantastic start! (IMO, the sauce won't hurt anything. I would have kept it too!) Great job!
Just do the best you can do today. I know it's hard when you're away from home, but I am so proud of you for starting some slow carb yesterday and picking it up today!
Missy, don't be discouraged. You're doing great! You know, I've learned that even if you stick to a plan to the tee, you can still go up in water weight. It's just how our bodies work. Sometimes it holds onto water just to make things run more smoothly or to repair muscles, etc. It's a perfectly natural thing, and the good news is that water weight will always come back off!
Just make sure you are drinking (but not over-drinking) enough water each day, because if your body doesn't think you are taking in enough, it will hold onto what it has. You definitely want it to release any extra water, so make sure you take in enough.
And have a great time watching your Eagles play tonight!

You're definitely mentally ready, keep it going

And if a little water weight gets in the way (and it will at times), no worries because it will fall back off.
You'll be at that 171 you said would make you fall out before you know it! And yes TOM makes exercise so much harder, but good for you in getting it done! Your determination is inspiring!
I think it's great that your son is interested in The Four-Hour Body. It's always good when someone so young takes an interest in their own health and, more importantly, in a healthy way!
