I love hot cross buns as well - especially those wholemeal ones from Tesco (best hot cross buns ever). I've promised myself one for 'a meal' on Sunday - and probably on Monday, too!

I don't mind drunks just so long as they don't get violent or noisy. My neighbours enjoy a drink or ten and they are the noisy kind.

Well - the chicken all turned out good (the dogs are going nuts with the smells) but the pancake experiments were a little peculiar. Does anyone know of a brand of sweetener which still stays sweet when its used in cooking? I made some oat/cottage cheese muffins which puffed up and looked lovely but they don't taste like they look (no sweetness).

All I can suggest is a sugar/splenda combo. I usually just try and cut the sugar content if I'm baking and forget the sweetener. I have had no success with them at all.

I don't mind drunks in small numbers, but honestly thousands of people converge in Rammie on Good Friday. I wouldn't mind if I had a group of friends to hang out with, I suppose, but I soon get bored, unless there's a band or something to watch. Or cute guys Or sport. Sport with cute guys???

Speaking of which, we're looking for a pub so we can watch Man U v Portsmouth. I am becoming alarmed at my level of interest and knowledge of football. I always resisted soccer, coz I'm an Aussie rules girl! I think it's coz I've been using the rower a lot, and it's right in front of the huge screen at the gym with the football on.

I'm going to persuade Col to let me go to the gym tomorrow, I want to do my weight training. I'm really getting into it again!!

We went to the Old Dun and watched Man U v Sunderland (he dragged me there under false pretenses, as he told me it was Portsmouth, and I am in love with Lua Lua, who wouldn't want a man who could bounce like that!!!??) It was full of p***heads. It was actually locked when we got there, but the landlord saw us coming and opened up...........bless.

But we didn't get drunk well I had two bottles of strong cider so I was giggly, and we're up early to go into the village.

Just waiting for Col to put his slap on, no idea what he does up there that takes so darned long!!!!

Kykaree I too am being dragged into this footie mularky. Mind you my hubby is a mad Man Utd fan and my eldest son is a huge Arsenal fan oh what fun it is in my house. Anyway I was woken last night by my husband moaning how tbey had just given the title to Chelsea!!! God did he go on. Oh and I have to agree with you about Lua Lua. I watch Soccer AM every Saturday too.

I've just had a lovely brekkie of mushrooms, scrambled egg and toast, that will keep me going all day, I am going for a long walk with a friend and my youngest son who is coming up to thirteen.

I couldn't gym last night but went for a bit of a run, but stupidly wore my son's fleece which I couldn't take off as I had his Ipod in one pocket and my mobile in the other.

I had a bit of excitement this morning! I was out with the dogs, walking between some of the tall rush/grass stuff which grows alongside the narrow drainage canals - only about 5 mins from home - when I heard a monumental BANG. I screamed and this lad who'd been hiding down in the grass stuff stood up WITH A SHOTGUN POINTED STRAIGHT AT ME. He was all apologies - he laughed and said he thought I was a duck or a goose or something. Then George got all defensive and started snarling at him - and he pointed the gun at my George! I just screamed at him and RAN. I've phoned the Police and they are on the Moors now looking for him. OMG - I'm still shaking!

Yikes Sarah - that sounds scary! It doesn't sound like 'normal' behaviour to lurk in rushes with a loaded shotgun to me. Glad you and Georgie are OK!

Well - it is fairly normal if you want to shoot wild duck - there's a fair amount of that goes on in this area - but they aren't allowed to do it on the Moors because that is a conservation and 'site of special scientific interest' area run by English Nature which is why its never occurred to me to be watchful before.

The Police have just left - they didn't find him and I gave them a description which was totally useless - 16 y/o lad with brown spikey hair in a camoflage jacket with shotgun. They asked me what he was wearing on his legs and feet - yeah right! Like I was looking at his feet while he was pointing a shotgun at me.....

One thing though - it proves that I CAN run when I want to!

It's my turn to batch cook today. I'm going to try the pancakes later but I've just finished making georgeously lean beef casseroles for the freezer. Brocolli and stilton soup next I think (merest hint of stilton I hasten to add) - yummiest soup ever

The slap sounds like a good idea - so long as he's not still carrying the shotgun! If my Monty was still around (isn't he just the cutest) he would have run a mile - I thought that dogs were supposed to be loyal - no chance

Hi all, Sarah that sounds incredibly scary. I hate guns. And teenagers. I'm just glad your all alright. I'm sure if they had got him the police would have just given him a caution anyway. ASBOs don't work either. Don't know what the solution is for these disaffected, disillusioned, socially inept youths.....

I had a great workout today. I was going to have a running day and managed 10 minutes before my asthma decided it would be a good weights day.

So I did my programme. I have had about 5 people comment on my weight in the past two days, it's been amazing!!! No scales for me until the end of May! I shall not be tempted to jump on them earlier!!!
