Good Afternoon!
The start of the school year has been busy, of course! I just spent an hour trying to catch up on all the post.
Happy Belated Birthday, Tina!
Welcome to all the Newbies! For those from east Tenn., about 6 years ago, I spent one weekend a month in Maryville, Tenn. getting my Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership & Administration from Lincoln Memorial University. Loved the town and the people were super nice. If I didn't live in Georgia, I could easily see myself living in Tenn.

Katy, I am an elementary counselor for grades K-5. So I deal with all of them.
So far the heat has only affected the end of the day car rider line. The parents start lining up their cars about 1:30 and we don't release the kids until about 2:15. So they aren't feeling too friendly when it still takes 30 minutes to get through the line. My suggestion....put your kid on the bus! Now I wouldn't say that at just any school but overall we have good kids and nice bus drivers. I live just over the county line into the next county so my DS can't ride the bus but anytime he can ride it to my sister's house or his dad's house he loves to. My Dad is building a house in the district and my DS can't wait to start riding to his house in the afternoons... being a teachers kid... he tends to live at the school more than our house! My goal this year is to leave work by 4:00 every day. I haven't done very well so far. I didn't leave any earlier than 7:30 last week except for Friday (I left at 5:30). Since I have to be at work at 7:15 a.m., that makes for a LLLLOOONNNGGG day! I was planning on going into work this afternoon while my DS is visiting his dad but I have talked myself out of it. My grass has got to be cut (a little over an acre) and today it is actually overcast. I better get it done while I can.
I'll be going to COD tomorrow for WI. I haven't been since last Wednesday. Hoping for the best. We will see! Have a POP day!
