Good morning ladies. Please forgive me, I did not read the pages and pages of posts before posting so my questions are probably answered somewhere in your posts. I want honesty about this program ok?
I have been morbidly obese for 30 years and overweight more than that. I am in my mid 50's so I am not going to spring back with tight skin etc like some who are very large and lose a great amount of weight. I don't plan on being a bikini model, just want to be fit. Lastly, I have had to have 2 colon surgeries in less than a year from diverticulitis so I have to have something that is not a nutty program, but intelligent eating. I am one of the few fat women who is not offended by the word fat, stand up for myself and a proud of my size as it is and don't let anyone talk down to me, make fun of me or whatever. Oh and I have the most scrumptious man that I have been married to for 36 years who adores me whatever way I am so the support is certainly there. I am also someone who works hard at losing weight, but have never found the one program that seems to work for me consistently. I loved WW but because you can eat whatever you want, I stupidly just ate whatever I wanted and stayed within points. I lost, but with this medical mess I got myself into, I can't continue to eat stupidly as next time, I may not survive it or will end up with no colon at all and be stuck with an ostomy bag forever.
Is it truly a healthy eating program, not nutsy but balanced? Do the exercises seem to work, I don't want miracles, I mean do they help build up your body strength and stamina wise? I just ordered the program, but I am sending it right back if you posters say that this is something other than a good healthy eating and exercise plan. I would love to be 100 lbs down in a year as we are going to Las Vegas again next Sept. We have been there 3 times and let me tell you, walking around in over 100 degree heat when you weight 350 lbs is truly difficult. I want to desperately be able to walk around without huffing and puffing.
Thanks for your input ladies. I post at Support/Steel Magnolias so I will check back in here later to see what y'all have said! Oh and good luck to each and everyone one of you. Just remember, losing weight is not just food and exercise, it is retraining your mind about how, when and why you overeat. Combine the three, eating, exercising and behaviour modification and you are unbeatable!
