I had so much cake and wine yesterday it was my parents anniversary. Now I'm just sitting watching big brother.

Mmmmm, I love Brie, especially in a bacon toastie YUM - but not very good, to make it worse, I had aforementioned bacon toastie for lunch, but had no brie, so used blue cheese instead! Oh well, such is life!

Like you said Tamara, you've got to eat & live & can't be on a permanent diet, it's all about the attitute to food right & what I'm trying to do.

Had a good day today, sun's shining (what's with this weather - doesn't it know it's half-term and people are on holidays? It surely should be tipping down ) this morning we went for our jog (ish) - still a killer, but I'm pleased I went. Then this afternoon, no-one fancied coming for a walk, so me & my little doggie (and my I-Pod) went for a really long walk - nearly 2 hours and it was really lovely, kept up a reasonable pace too & enjoyed it. I've already done over 15,500 steps and will add a few more before bedtime, which is my record on the old pedometer.

Well time to go and start dinner I think, having pasta & salmon tonight, which is one of my fav's.

Whew, that's a pretty good number of steps, Dotty! Does your little doggie need his paws re-surfaced now?

Yuk yuk yuk...I hate cheese . Which is probably a good job, because if I liked cheese (and butter and cream - double yuk!) I'd probably be the size of a house by now (not just a large bungalow ! )

Back to work today after my hols... ...and I had to sack someone . I'd so love to be a lady of leisure...

Hmmm..dunno about power. I guess some people are cut out to be bosses and some aren't and I absolutely HATE every minute of it! I thought I'd get used to it, but it seems to get harder, not easier. I liked it when I was only responsible for myself - now I head a team of 12, and work is a nightmare. I literally spent all last night awake, 'cos I was so miserable at the thought of going back to work after my vacation and I knew I had to bite the bullet and give someone the heave-ho. She was useless and bolshie but that didn't make it any better. I've only been a "boss" for 6 months, and it was a big mistake taking the job - yet I'd aspired to it and worked for it for years! Be careful what you wish for, ladies .

Ah well....enough whining. When did that ever solve anything?

Hi all, I am bushed today. Did overtime at work, so no exercise. Sorry you had to do nasty things at work janey. In my opinion often the best bosses are those that don't like it, they're not on some power trip and only trying to do their best for the employer and employees.

I stayed late at work, because we weren't doing so well (call center speak here, but being the last day of the month we had to work really hard to try and meet service level) and we failed. So I missed exercise for nothing, nada. Waste of time that was......and it's meant to be my maintainance week, but I can't afford to relax my eating if I am not getting to the gym regularly.

Tomorrow is another day, and I will be a good girl and go to the gym at lunch time.

Hi Everyone

I'm in a dilemma should I go home or not its such a GREAT DEAL! $500 so it will be hard not to go only problem is my arm is such a mess black from bicep to wrist and extremely painful. I have a slab on it (its like half a cast that can be removed for showering etc) and a sling around my neck I keep taking it off and leaving it off because i'm in the same pain with or without it I was already in Physio for tendonitis before this happened and my arm would'nt straighten it was about 5 degrees off now its about 20 if I keep the cast on I will lose even more mobility and could even develop a frozen shoulder so I'm quite concerned about that and its pissing me off too I need to make my mind up here because if i'm going home i'll be leaving on SUNDAY

I've been MIA as well although I've checked in and read a few posts a few times.
Mum and Ted are here right now, they arrived two weeks ago and we've been having fun.

Tomorrow is high school Graduation and #1 son will be 'walking' as they say here. I am so excited about it, he has had such a trying four years of high school, pure laziness on his part and no support from some teachers when he needed help... but that's another story!

Anyhow, tomorrow evening, we'll all be sitting at the baseball stadium across the road, sweltering in 101 degrees, but the rolls of sweat dripping down my cleavage will be well worth it

Cat, your arm sounds terrible. You may well have to have a docs note to fly if you really want to go home, give her a ring and ask about it all. If you do get to go, have a wonderful time..... we'll miss ya.

Ok, must go, am hoping to have #1 son home in a mo with cap and gown, which apparently needs a LOT of ironing!! GAH!!!

Dotty, way to go! Where did you guys get your pedometers from and about how much do they cost? I've been trying to get one for ages, but have no idea about what prices are appropriate. A vendor at The Preston market had one with a radio that was £6 but it was a bit largish...

Frus, I don't remember reading about Mars bars in the GI diet book? Must have missed that page lol Hey, don't get me started I had a piece of wholemeal toast with brie for breakfast after your last post!

KYK, o dear... I hate it when work stuff interferes with 'healthy life' stuff. I felt like I couldn't work out or eat properly at my last job because I was on the road so much and sometimes had to skip lunch because we were so busy! And forget about exercise after those long days and all that stress!

Brit, glad you're back! Sounds like life is busy! Hey, you're a great mom... I may have ironed my mom's clothes for my graduations, not the other way round! lol congrats to you and your son...

Hm... just got an ongoing temp PA position in town... and I'm going on hols next week! I have to phone up the agency, but am dreading the phone call... Anyway the director said he's in no rush to have a full time PA b/c he's got to sort the role out (he's not had one for a month now and feels he's got another month of flexibility), so hopefully, there will be no problem with my disappearing act! I hope the person that comes to fill in for me doesn't do such a great job that they ask her/him to stay Fingers crossed... wish me luck!
