Hi everybody....Friday is finally here! I'm ready for the weekend. Although, I think it's going to be rainy. Which reminds me.....hope all are safe from the hurricane. I'm praying for all.

I have a prayer request.........hope it's not selfish. I really don't feel like it is. When we had to get a lawyer to get insurance to pay on the housefire, (can you believe that?!) he said he was going to notify the Maytage Co. & see if they would make things right with us. A new Maytag stove started the fire. I had researched on the pc & found where this model had started several fires!
He finally got a call from them.....they want to know what it will cost to finish our house. Seems they are willing to settle....to not go to expenses of a lawsuit. We didn't like the idea of sueing (spelling), but felt we had no choice....not enough money to finish house.
I have a lot of paperwork to do over the next few days, preparing to present this to them, but very willing to do it.
We're not asking for a large, beautiful home. Just our simple house, we had before......& not to watch my husband work so hard at trying to rebuild it......mostly alone. If we got enough in the settlement....he could hire a carpenter to help him. Please, everyone that will....help us pray about this.

eisenj.....I'm SO sorry. Life can really get tangled up sometimes, can't it?! I'm afraid to give you advise on this one. Maybe someone wiser than myself will know best what to advise. I WILL pray that you get your answer, & all will work out.

We were on internet for quite a while...but had to use money to buy a larger, very expensive transmitter. Thanks for the interest.
Give me just a couple of more days to finish my website. With the death of manager's dad, etc, I had to put it on hold for awhile. You can go to it now, of course...but would like for you to go to it when it's finished. I have been able to "clean up" a lot of it, though. Guess I'll learn to leave well-enough alone!

Hi everyone,

Where I live, didn't get hit with the Hurricane. We do live in the evacuation route for the cost of Myrtle beach and savanah. The outer banks always get the blunt of the big storms like Nags Head and Kitty Hulk. We went to Duck one year when the kids where young for vacation. they have wild horses that roam the beaches and sand dunes. I had never seen wild horses before.


~Angel~ I will pray that you will be able to restore your home to the way it was before the fire. Did they ever recall your oven? Thank God none of your family members were killed. Fire is so scary

Thank you for caring about my problem with my daughter. I want to solve this issue in a christan manner. If I am wrong I'll apologize. I need to find out the truth and set thing straight. I can't stop thinking about it. God is convicting me and I don't know how to handly this.

~Michele~ I do my praying when I walk the dog. We have a lake a block from me so I take her down there and sit on the bench to pray while she checks out the area. Its so nice to feel the cool breeze and hear the birds. I just praise God for the beautiful thing he has crated. He is so GREAT and He loves us so much! We are blessed to have Him in our life.

Hello JUDY ~ I am so sorry to hear about your DD ex... So glad he's okay and hopefully will feel well again soon. He is so very lucky - if his car was totaled it could have been so much worse.

I feel so badly for you Judy - that you had to be put into such a predicament with your DD, her girlfriend & her boyfriend... sometimes things are better left unsaid. But now that's neither here nor there. I will lift you up in prayer that the Holy Spirit may guide you as to where to go from here. Me... I am a person that never lets "stuff" get in the way of my friendships. I would talk it out with the friends, but Judy, that's a tough call --- because I don't really know you or your friends or circumstances well enough to give any advice in such a sensitive situation. There is always so much more involved then could ever be put into words, you know what I mean? Parents (as you would know) are so very protective of their children. My prayers are with you, that you will know what to do.

So good to hear that in spite the fact that you are having the dental problems & pain you are still keeping up with your program... good for you Not good that you didn't eat dinner you should never skip a meal. Even an egg would have been better then nothing... stresses your system when you skip I must say I like the 5lb idea allot!!!!! I basically do the same thing, but with 10lb's at a time... You shouldn't feel bad at all---they goofed! These are times that the people that are 'sue-happy' make those who should do something feel badly or guilty. You shouldn't at all... the company knew that they had a flawed appliance and still sold it. They owe you both that much, Charlotte. Your whole lives have been turned upside down since the fire. You have MY PRAYERS! And MY BEST FOR YOU BOTH!

Oh Goodness WILMA ~ How could I have forgotten to reply to you I'm sorry!

I went this morning and had another great workout at Curves! It was pouring rain, so when I first got there, it was quiet with only about 6 ladies... compared to Wednesday - that was quiet! I was able to meet three ladies that will be going every Mon - Wed - & Fri just like I will be, so we already look forward to our next workout on Monday! So darn cool! I have really missed being with other ladies like this and just haven't realized it till I was back in again. They even asked if I would like to join them at breakfast, but I couldn't this morning. Thanks again for all your encouragement! Oh... and I heard through the grapevine & chatting in class that there are 12 machines all together... but they only start you off in a new place with 8 and gradually increase it to 9, 10, up to 12 --- depending on the numbers coming to workout at the Curves.

I am sorry that your weight went up a little, but I do that too... where I may go up a pound or two then I'll drop three! Who will ever totally understand the body and why it does what it does I don't dare get on that scale now! I feel rather swollen and puffy right now from working muscles I didn't even know I had anymore , I won't go anywhere near it. In a couple weeks I will take a look-see again I am flying high right now and I know it will bring me down if I see a gain. Especially since I lost a bit more when I had my weight & measurements done on Wednesday (my first day at Curves).

Yeah... I just was over at my DSIL's yesterday and when Aaron came home & he just runs when he see's me. They are such Precious Children - aren't they! Down's children... True innocence! They love with their "whole being"! We get Aaron Christian music for his birthday's and Christmas and he loves it! His folks aren't saved, but they don't mind and Aaron loves music.

Me too... joining Dr. Phil's Book Club. Have you gone to the introduction thread that Angel started? So cool... I have only gotten through half of what we are to read by Monday, so I have to get a move on. Just been so very busy these days. A nice kinda busy. Se ya there

I am doing great- I lost 12 lbs since starting south beach. I know probably half is water but that is o.k. I have been busy all week we took our clients camping for 4 days then had to bring them back home last night because the state under went a disaster warning from central office, which we have been fortunate, all has been sunny and just windy. Sorry to hear of the people killed by Isabel I think the count is up to 19. I am leaving shortly to go home to my parents or camp, depending where they are, as our missions conference at church starts tom. and I am helping with the missions dinner, so anyway let me try to catch up. I didn't hear about the job, which probably means I didn't get it I heard through the grapevine that someone in title put in, so they would automatically get prefference, but I am o.k. with that,I am happy with my current job. Enough about me. Amanda Panda- Glad to hear your back on, good time, alot of us just restarted including me, and giving it to God, is the only way to succeed. Angel- I am praying for you there is alot on your plate, with all that is going on, but there is no reason they should not assist when their appliance was the cause.

Gary- Angie's journal sounds great count me in, sorry to hear about the problems with the nephew, hopefully this meeting will solve alot of those issues, your in my prayers, it is a tough row to hoe, but He needs you more than He knows, Mitchy- martial arts, now your talking then when those bad boys get wise, you can take them down a few pegs, hee hee, any way hope your doing better, sounds like the walking is going well. Judy Tea house sounds neat, sorry to hear about the problems with your dd and daughter's bf I will pray for ya, but sometimes it is better if your stewing to talk it over, Sprout- 7 weeks of radiation way that was rough and the wildfires that are near your home no wonder your looking forward to fall, don't blame ya! at all. Mrs. Hummer- Sorry to hear about the tooth problems! Nothing hurts more than an aching tooth. But the others are right no more skipping meals, the other night I stopped at McDonalds and they have the most wonderful grilled chick caesar salad then dinner is made just a thought, oh! and about house cleaning- Just invite E.Z. over, it will be done in a flash he cooks, cleans and does windows, think he 'll fit in a photocopy machine then once Angie gets him photocopied he could be faxed to ya, no more worry about whats for dinner, house cleaning! or home repairs We love ya Gary, I couldn't resist !Your are prize my man, and angie sounds pretty super too! gotta run, talk next week, probably by Tues. after I catch up. I finally reached my goal this week...35 lbs. I guess I tend to forget this is a weight loss board....& don't think to mention it. Anyway, been on my diet since April 23rd...lost slowly (can't exercise) & finally got back into my size 10's. Would like to lose more...but, would have to buy more clothes, & can't do that, right now.

SunnyD...It is so great that you work with Down Syndrome children! I agree, they love unconditionally! It would be nice if the whole world had the attitude they have. I know a young man who got married recently. He cried like a baby at the wedding, & afterwards, at the reception, told how he was blessed....& that a "normal" girl loved him. I hate the way the world calls people "normal", etc. My dad had a club foot. He could do anything anyone else could. Everyone called him "cripple", though. When I was little, I would walk in front of him & stick my tongue out at anyone who even looked at him. I'm sure there were several innocent people who wandered what my problem was! I sure miss him...I was "daddy's girl". He died with cancer when he was only 52. He was a preacher, & worked very hard for the Lord! The young man I told about, is also a preacher!

eisenj....I'm so sorry this burden is on you. Just pray & allow the Lord to give you the advise you need. He will. I'm still praying for you.

Mitchypoo....Sounds like you had a great day! It's such special times, when there's a song on your lips, & a praise in your heart! The whole day just goes better.

I want to thank all of you for the encouragement with the Maytag Co. I'm not trying to put their products down. We still like their appliances. Just feel we got a bad one. If I had researched, though, we would have NEVER bought that model. Like I said....several fires. To answer a question...recalls were done (for that reason) up until the year we bought ours (2002). They must have thought they had resolved the problems. Just keep praying that all will work out. We've never done anything like this before, & want to go about it the christian way.

HI GALS--

Can't be here too much as I have to go to work today. It is 6:15 here in California and my son just left to take his cross-country team to a big race in San Diego, Angie is out on her 3.5 mile walk and the nephew spent the night at my brother's house (it was his daughter's 16 birthday).

Just wanted to let you know things went as well as they could have at the meeting for my nephew-- his mom showed up (bummer as usual because she just caused trouble) her dad, 2 sisters and a brother in law came-- they were great and very suportive of us-- there is 6 brothers and sisters from what I understand in her family and none of them wanted to take the kids-- MOSTLY because they didn't want to deal with her. When she brought things up (lies) against my brother and I (mostly me) her family backed us 100% in every accusation. She doesn't like me so about 90% of the stuff was against me-- years ago, after she threatened to kill my kids (3 and 5 at the time) I quit talking to her about anything-- I have never ever said anything bad to her ever though to her face-- I just ignore her, except at Christmas, I always get her a nice gift like all the other aunts and uncles. Other than that I have nothing to do with her-- the best thing that ever happened was when I kicked her out of my house for good a year ago when she was screaming at the top of her lungs to my family and nephew that " Uncle Gary stole you from me-- he has always wanted you for his own son" Yea, with a 20 and 22 year old in college and an almost 16 in high school step-d, I really need a 12 year old hard to handle nephew to take care of.
Anyway, although a lot of what the social workers were trying to accomplish didn't work (simply because they are trying to look at this situation as a problem that started after my brother died- and no matter what the group tried to express during this meeting that this PROBLEM with the mom started many many years ago- way before the kids were born- they didn't seem to grasp it) They seemed to be focused on going forward from here (no problem with that) but failing to get it that what they are asking of the mom just can't or won't be done--
When they left us alone for family discussion the first words out of her mouth to me were " you got Ron's social security check didn't you?" Yes-- "well that check was mine" No- it is Ron's- "but I had him for 2 weeks last month" Yes but I had him for 2- when he went back with you for the trial period I gave you both checks that came while he was with you because it is Ron's money-- now that he is back with me I put it in his account. "But if I don't get that money I will be evicted (she is living in a motel) and my car will be repossesed (about 20 others have been too) I said oh well, if you believe the money belongs to you feel free to to to social security and tell them what has happened- if they notify me that it is your money I will gladly (I use that word loosley) hand it over to you-- She just stormed out of the room and we never saw her after that-- when she left her whole family said "IT's always about the money- never about the kids, we just gave her 1,900 as a family a few weeks ago-- they like us are always giving-- we had no idea how much-- both families thought the other side gave some but not as much as we all have.
Anyway after she left we had a great conversation and a lot was accoplished for the kids-- we all know she will be back and all agree she can be very dangerous-- Prayers are asked for both of our families here gals- thanks.

Well other than that things are well, of course I allowed Ron to go 2 weeks on his own at school without birddogging him-- guess what? He fails to turn in his work, even though he said he has done it, etc-- I talked will all his teachers this week-- new game plan Monday-- just like before I have to make him accountable- I just wanted to give him a chance with the new school year-- he blew it-- of course there was always a reason or excuse-- so like his mother--- stop the cycle!!

SUE ~ Yeahhh, on your 12 lb loss! I lost 16 during Phase I of SBD, but when I went to Phase II put 5/6lbs back on... now in the process of it coming off again. I realy do like how good I feel on it!
