Hey Sandra, I found a recipe for core pork breakfast sausage. You have to make it from scratch (i.e. you have to get the pork and season it), but I think it looks like it could be tasty.

So now, you have the core biscuit recipe. Hmmm - if we can figure out some core gravy -- we can have Biscuits and Gravy with sausage. Or maybe I'm just being wishful. I wonder if potatoes, ff evaporated milk and a food processor could get to a gravy consistency. Hmmm. I may be doing some experimenting.

NO!! Step away from the blender!! When my jaw was broken and I was wired for 7 weeks, I was sooooo hungry! In case I haven't already told you this story, that experience was proof positive that God was looking out for me. So here ya go:

I had my teeth cleaned the week before the accident, the doctor had just changed my hormone pills from a coated pill to one that was like aspirin (and easily dissolvable) and I had unexplicably gained 10 pounds. So then I had a bicycle accident and broke my jaw in two places, plus had 25 stitches in my chin. I was miserable. I lived on diluted jello, pudding, and soup. Sometime near the end of the ordeal, I had had it. I was hungry and that was that! The family was eating KFC ... chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits, gravy ... and then left to go to the inlaws' house. I was left at home to clean up but took a look at it all -- then thought ... hmmmmm, I can make this work! I put gravy in the blender. Added a biscuit. Whirrrrrr! Added mashed potatoes. Whirrrrrr! Added some chicken. Whirrrrrr! Then some milk. Whirrrrrr!

And then I spent 30 minutes in the bathroom with the WaterPik trying to get that gom out of my wires. It was not pretty!!!

But you know in those 7 weeks, all the weight I lost was ... you guessed it. 10 pounds.

terry, i have some country gravy mixes that are just 1 pt for a cup. now how often do we eat a whole cup of gravy? go to whitelily . com (there are no blanks in the website. i just left them here so i wouldn't be posting a website.) look for pioneer mills products. then look for no-fat gravy mixes. each mix makes 2 cups. all you add is water.

is your core sausage recipe posted here? i'd love to copy it. yep, we're going to have some mighty fine breakfasts.

Kathy, I would have gone nuts with a broken jaw. Not being able to talk for 7 weeks? My family, however, would have been overjoyed!

BTW, I made the Twice Baked Chicken tonight. Jim said it was ok but I didn't care for it very much. I liked the cheese topping ok but the chicken poached more than it baked and I don't like that very much. Tomorrow I'm going to make my polenta pie that I freeze and eat for lunches.

I've got a real busy morning so I probably won't be on until late morning. My kitty hurt her hip running away from the dog. She's limping and I'm going to take her in to the Vet tomorrow. I called to see if there was something I could give her. Dogs can take some human medicine. They told me they could give her a cortisone shot but they want to look at her to see if that's necessary. She isn't crying but she's not jumping up on stuff and limping badly. She's my baby so I gotta take care of her. Bad dog!

So I think I can hear some fireworks going off somewhere but I can't see them from the window! How frustrating is that? We were going to go to the park, but of course it's been warm, hot and sunny all week, not a cloud in the sky - and today it just pours and pours and lots of wind so many fireworks have been cancelled. Kids gone to Parliament Hill and hopefully those are still happening!

I need a big shove on the wagon - what a week I've had! Between graduations, birthday celebrations and visitors it seems I have just given up and eaten like a maniac - and it was yummy - and I will be STRONG and still go to wi tomorrow - hoping it's only a 3 lb gain and nothing more! I will again need to detoxify and rid my body of all this sugar I've been eating. Also just got TOM so this was not helping! I am so glad to see you all here cuz you are inspiring me- I reallly was thinking of just giving up- esp as I am about to go on vacation - but I realize in the big picture this is just a blip and I need to at least try to get back on track!...as hard as it might be!

Spent a frantic day Wednesday on the phone back and forth with ds's principal, the e-leanring school ( he needed to complete a math course to graduate), with ds (who was sleeping off the effects of prom night at a friend's) and ex. Seems ds was NOT GOING to graduate w/his class thurs am as he had not completed the final exam for the e-learning math course!!!!!!!!!!!! Ds claims he never intended to write the exam,just needed to pass and would accept the mark given (73). School never got the mark from the e-learning place....and they said HE HAD TO WRITE THE EXAM - even if he got a zero!

So because his principal loves him to death, she made arrangements that pm to have him come to the school, write the exam, send it in, e-school would mark it and fax back credit and pass that very afternoon so he could graduate the next day. So we finally locate ds he goes to school at 2 pm - writes the exam (like scribbles a few things on it), and at 4 pm I get the phone call from principal - congrats - see you in the morning! I was such a basket case, so stressed out - telling everyone around me not to have children!

Got to sit in a hot steamy gym w/over 700 people to watch ds get his diploma! Hallelujah!

I am now officially on vacation for the next 2 weeks and trying to get everything organized and packed for Florida. My gf her dh and dd arrived from Toronto to help her sister and dh (who just moved here) unpack. So we have just been visiting (and eating) and going out (and drinking) and I just had everyone over for dinner!!!! (more eating and drinking). Luckily I had food in the house as all stores closed today for Canada day! Just running the dishwasher now and trying to get this place back in order! Dh was out all day with the other 2 "boys" and I have barely seen him - he has gone back to the sister's place now to help her dh hook up their computer, stereo system etc.

Tomorrow the "girls" want to go shopping at the mall -I presume my dd will want to go - she is out tonight and sleeping over at a friend's so I don't think I'll see her til the afternoon. She is spending sunday w/her dad and she had better be around Monday to do her laundry and pack her suitcase!

I am not sure how embarassed I will be when I get on the scale tomorrow? It's not like I don't know how this "happened"....but boy do I need someone to get that rolling pin out and use it on me!

frouf, i'm doing the same thing you are. i thought i'd be able to get back in control today but i wasn't.

now i'm looking for an excuse. the best one i can find is my left foot. it's scaring me how bad it is. i had a shockwave treatment on it yesterday at pt. the doctor cleared me to compete this weekend at a local tournament but told me to drop out if i started having trouble. curtis thinks my main problem with my foot is "i'm thinking about it too much." i don't know. maybe he's right but it's hurting--a lot. i have 2 pts and 1 doctor's visit next week. then friday we leave for butte so i can shoot the state championship. after that, i don't care what they do to this foot.

so tonight i'm having another pity party. it's a shame. no one comes and no one brings presents.

Frouf, the ONLY shame is in giving up! Do NOT give up. Go get on the scale, go on vacation, get on the scale again, and then get back on the wagon. We will always be here. A couple of pounds is no big deal. Just don't give up and gain them all back. You can do it. You'll be getting lots of exercise on vacation. You will not gain that much. You didn't gain that much on your last vacation. Off my soapbox now!

Sandra, ditto for you. My PT hurt my elbow more than it helped. I hope you'll have better luck than me. Just like with everything else it's trial and error. They really aren't ever positive what will work on each individual. Try to find some Core comfort food in the meantime. And...for goodness sake, don't give up.

Good morning everyone

I think I've been gone for a couple of days, but have been lurking whenever I get the chance. Kids went to Grandma's Thurs. and stayed over until last night. They like to stay there because she lets them do stuff that I won't. Anyway, in 24 hrs. I got in lunch with a friend, a movie with another friend, and lunch with yet another. Of course there was a little time for DH, but I see him everyday. I feel bad for him because he must get his lower wisdom teeth out on Tues. Yes, he should have done it 20 yrs. ago, but didn't..................so, now they must come out at 40 yrs. old.

DD's hip hop class has been "invited" to perform at the 8th annual Celebration of Children. It's a celebration of children in the arts - everything from gymnastics, public speaking, singing, dancing, artwork................Anyway, it's Sunday the 10th, so she has rehearsal twice next week and dress rehearsal friday night. This summer sure is going fast.

way to go Terry that's a fantastic accomplishment. You should be really proud.

Melissa - congrats to DH on the new job.

Vickie - a loss for you too??? Yay!!

Frouf - hang in there. We all have our ups and downs. Drink lots of water on vacation. I can't wait to hear how Disney was. We are going in Nov.

Good morning ladies! It was an absolutely goregeous day yesterday. I spent over 3 hours in the garden. brb

OK, I just got back. I heard a hot air balloon really close, so I got the big girls and went outside. It was very low, and we followed it through the backyards and it landed about 1/2 a block away! The pilot was nice, and let the girls come up and look at it, and we watched it deflate. Then they gave the girls cards with the balloon's picture on it. Wow, what a reward for getting up early! I always wished a balloon would land in our neighborhood when I was a kid.

Anyway, as I was saying, I spent a bunch of time in the garden yesterday. I pulled weeds, caged the tomatoes, and dusted the vines for beetles. If it's halfway decent weather today, I'll probably spend more time out there today.

I'm still eating 100% Core - it's been 6 days now. TOM cravings are starting to arise, but I'm compensating with Core goodies. I got those WW carrot cakes, and they're all right. I think I like them better without the icing. How do you guys eat them?

I think I'm going to go shower now, before the baby wakes up. I guess pretty soon I have to stop calling her the baby - she'll be 2 at the end of the month.

lost 1.4# this week, 1/2 of what I gained last week. Have had lots of fluid retention which is a family problem but at least I don't have the high blood pressure to go with it. Wednesday didn't have time after church for dinner before work so stopped at Wendy's for a burger and chili, had the points for it. It still surprises me that I lost.

Angela, what fun you have! You must have felt like you were in the middle of Oz. Speaking as the "baby", your baby DD will ALWAYS be the baby, even when she's 49 like me. My BIL has referred to me in my adult years as his baby SIL. He's about 20 years older than me and Sister is 14 years older. I'm guessing you are getting some awesome exercise out there in the yard. I hope to have a tiny garden next year. Right now it's way too hard to get around this belly! It was gorgeous here too yesterday. We actually opened up the windows and needed a blanket to sleep last night. Congratulations on 6 days back on Core. Do you feel better for it? I'm guessing you do.

Vivian, Congratulations on your loss. Just keep plugging away at it. Eventually, you will win the battle!

Ohhh Lisa, sounds like you are having fun! I'm glad you're enjoying your summer with your friends. Your DD must be plenty talented. Maybe she'll grow up and be famous and can take care of her Mom and Dad in their old age! I'm 49 and still have all of my wisdom teeth. One still hasn't come in! Dentist and I laugh about it all the time. You didn't say how you're doing on Core. Are you hanging in there?

I've got to go walk on the treadmill soon. Garage door person will be here in about 45 minutes. Then I have to get ready to take kitty to the Vet. She jumped on the bed this morning so I'm thinking nothing's broken.

Angela - how cool is that to have a balloon land in your neighborhood! !! ! Sometimes I warm the ww carrot cakes up in the microwave. Don't do it for too long, but they seem to tast a little better. Of course, I can't stop at just one.

Vivian - Great job on the loss! I have been the same since April 17th, so I think it's time once again to change things up a bit. Going to hop back on the treadmill starting today., and maybe do the Walk Away the Pounds tonight.
