Hi girls! Glad to see everyone is still going strong!
Mine is small and simple, but huge all at the same time.
I stayed with my grandparents to help them cook, clean & prepare for both Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. They are 83, but still insist on doing all holidays.
Christmas Eve we had put all the food away & were cleaning up the kitchen. My grandfather, trying to be helpful, put DAWN dishwashing liquid in the dishwasher. So I stayed home from Midnight Mass to clean up the ensuing mess. We couldn't open the soap dispenser back up, so we ran the dishwasher until it popped open, then turned it off. I then ladled soap suds & water out of the machine for the next hour.

I wiped out the machine, put the correct soap in, and sat and wiped up the suds as they came out of the machine during the regular cycle. (I got out as much of it as I could, there was still enough to make a mess.)
So I was home alone with a houseful of food (homemade ravioli, meatballs, italian bread, salad, sauce, lasagne, anchovy pasta, shrimp cocktail, fried smelt, scalidi, genetti, rum balls, a chocolate cake my grandfather had made, ice cream, etc) for a good 2-3 hours.
And I did not eat one thing. I sipped my treat I had brought along (diet cherry 7up), and gulped my water, and that was that. I also read a cool magazine called DIET 2007 that I found at the grocery store.
For me, this is huge. Those meatballs are good! One meatball turns into another, and another, and then you have the sauce, a few pieces of bread, freshly grated parmesan, and pretty soon a small snack turns into a disaster. I'm so glad I avoided that.
