to ALL the Newcomers,
This is a great diabetic support group. Glad you found us and good luck on your journey.
Well, the Intermittent Fasting is working great on the fbs. It seems to be at 115 for most of this week. I'm sure it might be even better if I was in more control of my eating, so started counting calories and carbs today. I seem to do well with a 17 to 19 hour fast and 5 to 7 hour eating window. Not eating low carb atkins style. I appreciated reading how many carbs some of you allowed yourself to eat when sharing with the newcomers. My goal at this time is to keep carbs around 100g. IF is working great for the FBS, but my weight is up considerably I'm sure because of the higher carbs. Thus the reason for the cal/carb counting. Now that I finally have the way to get the FBS coming down, I now will work at bringing down the weight as well. Not giving up on this one.
ksails - I can't take my carb as low as atkins because I too love fruits and veggies. In fact, when I married DH and moved to FL, I loved all the wonderful fruit they had down there. That is when I learned that I could easily become a fruitaholic. I ate mostly protein, vegetables and loads of fruit. And was losing weight like crazy. Didn't eat bread or starchy foods too much back then. Maybe I should rethink that.LOL
Ruthie - Glad you were able to get rid of the 2 meds. Hope the cold hits the road soon.
Bonnie - Sorry to hear about the DDIL, but glad the Grands knows who Grammy is now. Glad to hear you are back on track.,
Kellye - So sorry you have difficulty keeping your foods down. However, your fbs seems to be down a bit. Mine used to go all over the place. The last 3 timines I've gone for my 3 mo. check, I would go to the doc thinking my A1c was going to be terrible and the everytime it has been a normal 6. Go figure. These bodies are complicated to say the least.
Mad - Looks like you are doing great. I'm sure you will have another loss.
Rie, Jonjaxmom, Chipper and others -
Have a good evening.
