What did you resist today?

  • Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies.
  • Speaking of cookies, I got Subway today and hubby found two cookies in the bag I didn't order. It's sitting on the counter right now. I'm in the late evening resist everything mode and it's tough!
  • Poptarts. Ive thought about having one everyday for breakfast. Im gonna one day, but not yet. Or maybe half. The kids ate all the cherry only blueberry left. mmm blueberry...those r my fav.

oh yea (edits)...this is my first post too. been around about a week lost 10lb so far, but yes...its my desire for a poptart that brought me out of lurking. ITS THAT BAD.

    soon...
  • A slurpee. I bought my kids each one as a bribe to finish our walk today. We walked almost 3.5 miles. I was really thinking about getting one but I could not find a calorie count. So I passed.
  • I resisted icing and serving both of the layers of the cake I made this afternoon. Instead, I put a thin layer of icing on one layer and froze the other for another time. I resisted having a scoop of ice cream with my small (and planned for) slice of cake while I was serving dh and the kids. I resisted having more than one Yorkshire pudding with my supper, even when everyone else was having a second (or third in dh's case). I stayed within my calorie budget today, which meant having a smaller lunch so I could have a bigger supper.
  • I'm always craving a slurpee. The 44oz coke slurpee is 358 calories, from what I could find online.

Tonight I made pizza and had enough calories for two pieces. I'm resisting a third piece now. I'll be strong!
  • Resisted another quick mart snack and tossed out cookies at the house that made me want to binge
  • I'm visiting my parents this week but they went out to a birthday party. I didn't really feel up for cooking and my mom had left the pizza delivery pamphlet on the table in case I wanted to order in. I STRUGGLED... with this for at least half an hour. I would look in the fridge think "what should I cook?" and then think "ugh, easier to order in..." and then "NO! NO NO NO"... eventually i baked a piece of chicken with lemon and thyme with some asparagus and fresh corn from my cousins farm. It was infinitely better than the pizza would have been.
  • Resisted the box full of candy and buttery-delicious microwave popcorn left over from our company's family day picnic. One thing I definitely hate about being in HR is that there is always food around!
  • ... An assortment of Panera Bread bagels and spreads at work...
  • Oreos and milk at work (I love those!)
  • A second serving of dinner -- rice with curry stew. I love this meal and before I would have reached for a second serving.
  • Measuring out 1/2 cup brown rice to have with my lunch (instead of devouring a huge amount), and feeling very virtuous!
  • Bojangles chicken and biscuits. Driving home after giving massages I was starving... Burned over a thousand calories working today and thought I had earned a quick yummy meal and then I remembered about fast food and high fructose corn syrup and waited to have grilled chicken and home made corn bread at home.

I've found celebrating the little accomplishments like saying no or working out when feeling lazy make the "diet" not so bad. Congrats everyone! We are doing great!
  • I wanted a slurpee from 7-11 so badly. I haven't had any sugar in weeks, so I just kept thinking about my recent weight loss and chewed on a piece of gum instead.
