  • Well, it's another lovely day, so Andrew & I are going to go for a nice walk. Either at the park, or the cemetary. I'm thinking maybe the cemetary, as there aren't as many......stupid people there. That's a problem in this town...annoying teenagers like to go to the park...and a lot of times they make fun of people, and that's just not something I want to deal with today. Even though it's a gorgeous park right on the river.

I was VERY upset with my WI today. Thursday, it showed me having a 2 pound loss. This morning? .2 pounds. BAH! Although I think it probably has to do with TOM visiting me on Friday, but still. I'm not even going to change my ticker for .2 pounds!

    Just keep on truckin', right?

Some personals before we head out for the day.

Kymberly - Woo hooo on those size 12 pants!!! WAY TO GO!!!

Ammi - Even if you weren't OP, that's still a great NSV! From what I'm reading up on Weight Watchers, I think it will help me become better with portion control, which I desperately need!!! With South Beach, you're allowed to eat as much as you want, as long as it's a certain food, and I won't lie...sometimes I'd gorge. I have a problem with binge eating. I did well with sticking to my points. I had a nice salad, and just water. So, didn't even have to use any flex points.

Cris - That's a great way to look at it, and that's probably what I will end up doing for my birthday. Hehehe. Have a good time gardening with DD! I loved gardening with my Mom, before I moved out.

Valerie - Yay for getting on that horse again!!!! Have a great day today!

Xena - I'm really hoping that WW is something I can stick to far longer than I did with Atkins and South Beach. Since I can have what I want...just have to work them into the points. That helps SO much!! And the fact that Andrew is doing it with me...that makes it a LOT easier!!! Good luck with that list!!

Lesley - That sounds like a good idea about the dog. Wow, that's a lot of books!!! My mom has SO many books...she's working on renovating our attic into a library to house them all! Heh.

Brenda - Good luck, hun, and don't stress out TOO much!!!
  • kayley~ for the past 2 months, stress has been my middle name I only have a couple of weeks left at the stressful job then I just will have all my Part-time stuff for the summer thank goodness
  • not having a good OP day today.. not bad but not good.. oh monday will be a great day right?
  • Xena -- Loved that bit about "just one pound" so true!!!

I don't teach in the summer, but I still work (not THIS hard, though!). There are a lot of things I have to do this summer, including some research and course prep in the fall. Plus, I also help with summer orientation and advising as well as prepping schedules for incoming students. We don't really get the summer "off" even though we don't get paid for a lot of what we do.
  • Well, Andrew & I went out for our walk, we had only been going for about 5 minutes, when it started to sprinkle & got really windy...we were FREEZING! So, we went back into the car, and we hoofed our way around Walmart...I think it counts, cuz we were walking faster than we normally do, and we weren't stopping all the time. So, about 35 mins total. When the weather craps out on you...IMPROVISE!

We got a couple of nice lawn chairs to put on our balcony, and we're going to get some flowers to hang up as well. Our apartment is becoming more homely by the week.

Off to watch a couple of movies, as the weather decided to be BLAH. We rented "The Last Kiss", "Stranger Than Fiction", and "Thank You For Smoking".
  • Hi ladies!
Was able to get off work a bit early, and wanted to drop in and say hi! thanks so much for all the kind words and advice, thats why i come here, everyone is awesome!! Since we all are "kindred spirits" we know what it feels like if someone is going through something. thanks so much for understanding
XENA: i loved the pound story, and it is so true. thank you for sharing it. im sorry you missed your dinner out, hopefully next time, everything will fall into place.
AMMI: i have started a fund of sorts for a "tummy tuck" im not sure if my insurance would approve it or not. another plus is that i work part time for a general surgeon who did these routinely when he lived in california. I have "harrassed" him many times and he said he would do it for nothing. the only problem is, at the hospital i am employed at, elective surgery has a huge pre-surgery payment due. we will see what happens.
HEATHER: i have to say it again, you look amazing!!! you are such an inspiration to all of us
LESLEY: i also love books. i bet you have a cool collection. i dont blame you for thinking out the dog thing, they are alot of work. hope your day went well.
BRENDA: sorry there were some kinks in your day, i know the feeling! it always seems that when you really need something to go right, it goes wrong
LILLION: actually, the fried "greasiness" sounded good, lol. you have an amazing way with words, i laughed out loud at that! im sorry to hear about 9 consectutive days of rain, that sux!!
ZELMA: you are also a true inspiration! you look so lovely in your avatar pix, i would never dream you were ever over wt!! you should be extremely proud of all you have accomplished!
KAYLEY: i think you and Andrew will do well on wt watchers. when you can have anything you want to eat, its a lifestyle change you can handle, not a diet. your apartment sounds like its coming together nicely. kudos on the walking, walmart is huge!! thats alot of walking!
PATTI: everyone needs a cheat day, im sure tommorrow you will be right on plan.
As for me, i am feeling better than when i "whined" earlier. i keep telling myself, dont look at how far i have to go, look at how far i have come. i did have a NSV... i went to the Goodwill(my fave store and found an almost brand new pair of pants frm Banana Republic, size 14. these clothes are notoriously small. i thought, what the heck and bought them. i am happy to say, they fit great with a little room to spare it feels good knowing i can now go to that store if i want, without the clerks thinking i am a "freak" for being in there.
thanks again EVERYONE for your support and kindness, it means so much to me
  • Lesley - Yes, the dining group is fun. So far all of the events I have attended have been at restaurants. I don't think they do anything in individual homes. And yes, I live in a big city...Dallas-Ft. Worth. There's pretty much anything you'd want to eat here but my friends aren't really the adventurous types. They'd rather stick to the chain restaurants and the purpose of this group is to avoid them and scout out things that are authentic. I am going to an Indian restaurant with them in a couple of weeks.
  • Wyllen: I love, love your new avitar photo. You look amazing. I wouldn't have recognized your old photo compared to your new one if it weren't for you putting it on the bottom of your page!

    Patti: Hi

Zelma: Very appropriate and beautiful heart charm.

Xena: so sorry you missed your dinner. Thank you for sharing the "just a pound" thing. What a great thing for all of us to think about.

Kayley: Sorry your weigh in is mixed. I know that WW really taught me about portion control and all kinds of things I didn't know. I hope if you try it you will enjoy it.

Kymberly: Congrats on that 1 pound and also on a size 12!!!!! Way to go girl.

Ammi: Wonderful NSV! Glad your party was fun. Yes,lol I remember when I wanted Joel to pry the braces off my teeth. They only hurt the first and 2nd day after I get them adjusted so, once every 2 months is no problem.

33tekfan: Congrats on the -2 pounds! Way to go!

Val: Hugs. So glad you are venturing on Gabe again. My dear hubby made me a cup of broth the other day when I got home from the Hospital and it tasted better than I have ever had it. I asked what did you do to it and he added one tsp. of creamer. lol. So, if you are still doing the liquid diet, it was much tastier than just plain broth and only added 5 calories and no fat. lol.

Lesley: You are being very responsible in researching the type of dog you want. I applaud you. Congrats on all the exercises too.

Brenda: I bet your portfolio will look amazing if you scrap book it! What a great idea. Good luck hun.

Lillion: Good job on all the exercising and calling an end to all the snacking. Hugs.

Just taking it easy agian today. Cathcing up on laundry. I have one more load of clothes in the dryer right now. Once that is done then I will be done for the week with laundry until Friday. I want to get all the laundry done before my MIL comes. Tomorrow is another Weigh in for me. I am trying to keep it in my mind what Catherine said about water weight from the IV's, just in case. lol. I hope you all have a wonderful op day tomorrow with plenty of exercise.
Big hugs a blessings to you all,
    Annie
  • Hi everyone!

Today was mostly a good day...I worked in the garden for a bit, and in the bedroom...more priming and painting. Food was ok, not great but not horrible. It is SO much harder to stay op on weekends with everyone home. I do much better when I'm home alone all day during the week.

I added a pic of me as my avatar. It's not a great one because I don't have too many - I know alot of people here understand that! It was from a wedding I was in last September. I'm guessing I was probably 15 pounds lighter than when I started but it's pretty close. I'll probably use another wedding pose (full body) when I do my comparison shots - maybe after 50 pounds are gone.

Xena ~ That's exactly how I approach gardening! LOL! At least it's excercise! We moved a bunch of bricks, did some raking and digging so I got a good chunk of movement in while I was out there. But still, I would rather do some other form of excercise if given the option.

    Have a good evening everyone!

    Cris
  • Hi Everyone!

I'm totally behind on reading posts. I hope everyone is doing ok. Things are kinda blah for me. I'm anxiously awaiting this coming Friday, because I get my cast off. Then they will put me in a boot, so hopefully, I will be able to get around more freely. THIS IS SUCH AN INCONVENIENCE!!!! I just can't figure out why this happened when it did. I was doing so well on the liquids and had calculated how long it would take me to lose my weight if I just stuck to it. Now, I won't be able to get back on the liquids until the beginning of June - I will have lost 2 whole months. FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!! Oh well, I guess you just have to play the hand you're dealt.

I'm so sorry I am not making personal posts today. I am totally behind on reading posts and I know all of you must have very meaningful, stressful, and hopeful things going on in your lives too. Know that I'm with you in spirit!!!!!

My goal this next week is to try to keep up with the posts so I can get back in tune with what's happening.

    Take care, everyone!

    Lisa
  • Annie - I am anxious to hear about your WI tomorrow!!!! Andrew & I start WW tomorrow

Well, the weather cleared up! So, at 8pm, Andrew & I headed to the park. The last of the sun was going down, and we got in a nice 40 minute walk. We only saw one other couple, and someone walking a dog, so it was very peaceful. We even jogged the last stretch! Last week, I mostly did my workouts at home, but since finals are done with, I hope to get to the gym at least 4 days this week. I need to get back into my strength training. My finger still isn't back 100%, so I'll have to take it easy with the arms. Well, we have one more movie to watch this evening, so I'm going to head off here. Here's to an OP week, everyone!!!
  • Good morning everyone

Its 8 am and thought I would pop on to catch up while munching down breakfast. I have a bit more paperwork to do before I meet with my bride at 10 but I managed to get my book complete.

Bellydancing was so much fun last night. Most of us wore costume type pieces and it really made a difference in what we able to do. I guess when you feel the part, its easier to act the part. I now want a full-fledged costume. For any of you that are itchin to try it, I would suggest it whole heartedly. Afterall it is a goddess dance and made for curvy women. And the exercise part of it is great. I just hope it takes some of my curves and puts them in the proper places

OK I gotta get my fannie in gear or I will never be ready.

    TTYL Brenda
